My mum's favourite player: Chris Sandow

I took my mum along to her first live league game this year and there is only one player she recognizes and likes,Chris Sandow.I explained about his previous poor performances and how much he has improved this year.I have to take my hat off to Chris,he has put his problems behind him and has been a valuable and integral asset to Parra's good form,

My mum can't pronounce his last name,but has introduced me to a new word in Greek/Hillbilly slang:The boborus.No ,not a dinosaur called Bob,it means,  a little,short stocky person,a short-arse in other words.I tried telling her her that he is average height,it is just that everyone else around him are huge but she's having none of that.

After every try she gets excited and always asks,"Is the boborus going to kick the ball now?"

She also says he is the happiest looking footballer she has seen.

    The big thing is to not take either team lightly despite their position on the ladder. Refer the guys back to the the previous games we had against both teams, remind them of how tough both games were. How they don't win if they treat them with no respect because these teams do have enough speed to burn us if we let them.

    Your mum sure knows how to pick them haha. Not only being a good player, i just think his personality makes him that much more lovable. When you see him smile or be cheeky, and his little quick cheeky plays that catch people out, you can't help but smile and be happy too!

    He's really started to play well. He loves the club, and finally starting to gel with Norman and Hayne.

      I've told her about about the Raiders game in Canberra,and her being retired,is always looking for a trip out of the house.

    Hahaha, Sandow definitely isn't average height. Isn't he like 156cm?
