Ok, so with nominations closing today for the PLC elections, and it appearing like there is already going to be plenty of election talk especially given there is no game this week, I think it's appropriate that I again declare and reiterate my interests.
Firstly, an apology for those who find the political aspect of Parramatta and this site a chore. I think we can all be thankful that this is going to be a short and sharp two-week election period and that it just happens to mostly be in a football down period. It is what it is.
Secondly, I'm not running on the ParraFirst ticket, and that's an upshot of the fact that I've been disallowed from nominating. I asked for clarification on my eligibility a month ago and the independent legal advice that the board was given after reviewing the minutes of the saga was that while there were vagaries around the situation, my three-year tenure as a member had to be re-started when I was re-instated as a member.
I'm not exactly happy about. I think I would bring a pretty unique and valuable skillset and experience to the board if I had the honor of being elected. However procedurally my membership status was defined as reinstated rather than the original decision being overruled and hence the re-start of my membership tenure. I probably left my question too late for anything to be done about that and so I'm copping the decision.
Always club before individual! I think it's critical that the board absolutely stick to its edict of the highest possible standard of corporate governance and I certainly wouldn't want my running to be cause for questioning the board's integrity at any point.
Just as I believed that the 3P directors should have stepped down immediately when OLGR started their investigations, I don't believe you put yourself up as a candidate if you are under any sort of cloud. And I believe that I can continue to contribute to the club outside of the boardroom in any case.
Indeed, I will continue to support and will be working with the Parrafirst ticket this election to co-ordinate their communications as I have done so in the past. So do understand that anything I do say on the election front clearly has inherent bias. That said this site has always been a platform for open discussion and certainly any alternative viewpoints will not be censored or deleted (assuming they don't stray into the defamatory) and that will certainly continue to be the case.

Sims and he's buddies pushing their hidden agenda for endorsing the dictator.
This entire website is a political play and your trying to convince us otherwise.
Tell the people what good the 4 horsemen have done in 2 years, leagues club I want to hear not footy.
Highly qualified sharp and he's team with outstanding credentials to give members confidence to vote them to run the club.
Good luck!
Mate, I started the website in 2003. It's being going for 12 years. Are you suggesting this is the end-game of a devious 12 year plan.
And you kind of missed the whole point of this blog - it's not a hidden agenda, nor has it ever been. I'm absolutely obsessed with transparency, I've declared my interests at every point, and every single member on this site know full well that I support the board, but they also know that I'm not afraid to be critical when I see fit.
The ultimate KPI of every member organisation is membership numbers. If you're making the punters happy they continue their membership. If they are not, they won't bother about it. Membership is up for the first time in years after a long decline, that's really the be-all, end-all metric because it's an indicator for every other facet of the club.
Nothing hidden Jarhish, Phil endorses Sharp and his team as do I. Clearly you don't which is fine, so tell us who will you be supporting in this upcoming election and why?
You seem very anti current board jerkhish , do you offer an alternative?
All we seem to get is criticism and how "bad" or "inexperienced" they are
I am yet to hear 1 credible thing from any of the alternative tickets as to what they would do differently and how??
Your reference to being there for 2 years would suggest your alternative could get results across all facets quicker??
That in itself is wishful thinking in the world of Rugby league
Miatch and Sixties have just trashed your argument Jarhish! Sims allegiance is transparent and all above board. Where is your allegiance Jarhish? Tell us all? It is your turn now to put up or shut up! Parra has never looked better and it is people like yourself who continually wipe their feet on the club, the team and the supporters. So please tell us where you stand!? Sorry Muttman....I think I have re-iterated your earlier response?????
