This will be my 2nd post in 10 years, but long time reader and simply a Parra fan who is sick and tired of this relentless campaign. I don't have a clue who has done what, but all I know is that this club needs to move on from the past, and those in the past need to let go.

Sorry for the long post, and I was very reluctant to post in the first place

The media reporting has been discraceful. I am not a social media user or normally a poster on any forum, but I am that pissed off that I felt the need to send a letter to the Daily Telegraph and post this.

Today is the first day that Management have come out with a strong statement which needs to continue.

I'm also hoping that those who are the social media users, and actually know how it works, can start some campaign back onto The Telecrap.

I am also happy to personally fund a large banner for Saturday's game with some message to News Ltd. Someone the other day posted a banner with them as clowns, and happy to pay for this (within reason) if someone can pull it off.

I am not saying that the current management does not have issues, but I am sick and tired of this constant barrage from people with no integrity, and who make a living out of the game.

My letter to the Telecrap:

Good Afternoon,

I would love to get a response to this email please, and I will also be posting this to social media.

I have never once sent a feedback letter of complaint to any organisation, and I am not one to whinge so please take this as a strong sign that the standards of your reporting are ethically and morally bankrupt.

The campaign by your NRL gossip columnists / journalists against the Parramatta club shows a complete lack of ethics, and basic journalistic standards. The daily barrage is relentless, and the publishing of half truths as 100% fact is simply astounding.

There is a large swell of hatred towards your gossip magazine from a massive supporter base who understand that your NRL gossip columnists are simply being fed half information and lies from ex Parramatta CEO’s and Board members, who have agendas to push.

You may recall these  ex CEO’s and board members have been voted out several times.

Parramatta management has always been a shambles, and it is due to ex board members and factions who provide leaked half truths to the puppets at News Ltd, and this is then published as fact. Enjoy your time in the sun with this campaign, as I honestly believe there will be a large lawsuit to follow, plus a large exodus of readers from your gossip magazine.

The current Parramatta management do have issues, but having journalists in the pocket of ex members of the board with agendas to push, does not give them a chance.

I am a Parramatta fan plain and simple, and I only want the club to have a fair chance.

The article in your paper today regarding Semi is simply embarrassing for your organisation, and you should be ashamed.

My understanding is that a journalist would check their facts before publishing a back page article with logo’s referencing an organisation as being “dodgy”. I do laugh at the irony of this logo….What is that saying about glass houses?

I am sure your sources told you the whole story right, and that there was no need to make any enquiries for further comment from the current management you are trying to slander.

You may have found out that the TPA request was actually rejected by Parramatta management as this did not comply with the rules. You may have also found out that Parramatta then worked with the NRL and Salary Cap auditor who actually signed off on this agreement. That doesn’t sound as exciting I guess, but never let the truth get in the way of a good story appears to be the mantra from your gossip columnists

To take and publish information as fact from people who clearly have agendas shows a lack of standards and professionalism. Your NRL journalists should be working for a tabloid magazine, and I know these journalists understand that these sources have a specific bias but they are still happy to put their name to this drivel.

How Rebecca Wilson was able to publish the slanderous article about Paul Gallen on the weekend, I still don’t know…This agenda driven newspaper is amazing. Her constant bias against the NRL in general amazes me, yet she makes a living off this game. Maybe Paul Gallen can turn around and publish prior drink driving offences of certain staff members, and I wonder what the reaction would then be.

I look forward to your reply and happy to discuss this with any of your journalists.

Sorry for the long post, and maybe I am being naive.

  • Thought I would get a comment from you - reluctant poster, but just over this shit. Good night

  • Excellent be interested to see if they publish it
  • This is not an aberration
This how the telegraph always runs
    And all other news media
    ABC is no better

If we all stop watching they will go away
  • I tried to cover all bases as I knew you would comment, hence the subject title (not sure how to do smiley face).

    I'm serious re the banner...

    • You're a man of conviction Feral, i like that.

The sign would get air time for sure on tv i recon, thats not a bad way to get your frustration out lol,

    • Great poast mate. If i wasn't broke I'd pay for the sign.
  •  FFS Feral where have you been all these years for this to only be your second post? Welcome back, You havnt been in Silverwater have you?

I respect your action, sending off a letters a good proactive thing to do but unfortunately your intended target doesnt care about such letters, the newspapers get thousands of letters like this year complaining about ethics, id guess 99.9% of such letters give the recipients great comedey value, then they go in the bin.

If they did publish or talk about your letter it would be twisted to suit their agenda.

Anyway respect to you for doing something proactive mate.

    • Work and kids...no time for posting unfortunately. Agree with you mate which is why I normally would never bother, but felt the need this time....A banner would get some airtime I'm thinking and send out a message from a large supporter base.

  • I'd love to see everyone in the crowd in the Raiders game stand up with their backs to the field for ten minutes before the game starts ala the soccer supporters . Sending a message to the NRL not to turn its backs on the Eels life blood , its supporters . Some banners around the ground ripping it up the Telecrap and all the mudraking journalists. If we have to take our medicine in regards to the salary cap we'll take it in private not trial by media.
    • Bup, the Poznan is an excellent idea as it shows the players we still support them but are unhappy with the situation, NRL etc. Fans turning their backs in unison for 1 minute is a powerful statement.
