Musical Players, wily hookers and unhappy hookers

I just posted something similar on a Hooker blog and feel this may be worth a discussion on its own.

Now the question arises how much bad blood may exist with Reed if he wanted desperately to get out. Not good for anyone if he is not happy, including the possibility of bad blood with the coach.

Thinking again about this, Simmoson and Hogdson coming from the Raiders straight away maybe the leverage for Reed to go to the dogs and Cotric to the Raiders.....straight away.

We get a fast winger/back utility we desperately need and a wily hooker to replace an unhappy hooker. I'm not as negative in us getting Hodgson on that basis as I am about him starting in 2023. He could be a medical retirement in his second year.

The Hodgson replacement i.e. a young hooker that we have Hands and one we may still procure ie Robson, Verills etc...... so the hooker redevelopment takes place under Hodgson and Ennis starting now.

Makes some sense and if it has been devised by the manager everyone hates, rather clever.

    • No problems Bert but I have written worse drivel in the past. I was conscience of "not another hooker blog" just trying to justify why we would buy Hodgson, still maybe proven true......

Does that change anything if that does happen?

  • If the stories are true that Reed doesn't see eye to eye with the coach and/or teammates, then yes.

It would be best if he goes early.

PS Simonsson is coming in 2022 regardless, so only Hodgson is relevant in this proposal.

    • Yes, that is understood..... I suppose I am trying to rationalise Hodgson being brought, I am very uncomfortable if this doesn't eventuate.....seems almost a political spend (which disappoints me in our new regime).

  • I was just thinking the same thing Poppa. Personally I never want to see Mahoney in our colours ever again and hope he pisses off straight away. He's clearly desperate to leave given the timing of his announcement. Signed until 2023,  he had nothing to lose by waiting until next year to make an announcement. You'd have to think the lack of quality hookers on the market would have seen an offer upwards of $800k from the dolphins. Great choice of player manager dumbass.

Anyways, agree with getting Hodgson here in 2022. He's as competitive as they come and there is no doubt he wants a genuine shot at winning a title before retiring-much like Ennis at the sharks who was about the same age. He'd give us everything-and he'd want to be here

    • Dead right Slugg. But i don't think sex-worker really fits either. How about ball picker-upperer?

      • Trainee watermelon harvester ?

  • Dummy  Half isnt really a flattering term either

    • See Slugg, you hijacked the blog....I hope your happy....last time I negotiate a hooker for you!

  • Good blog pops, nothing burns me more than the thought of watching Mahoney is Eels colours in 2022.
The Raiders are in the same boat with Hodgson, the coach doesn’t want him, their fans will hardly cheer for him in 2022. The Dogs have made no secret they want Cotric gone.

I agree with you mate, I'd prefer for Hodgson to sign a 2-year deal starting in 2022, I'm uncomfortable with a 2-year deal starting in 2023 given his injury history. A 2 year deal starting in 2022 with a “job” guarantee in 2024 is a much safer option.

It seems that the Eels, Raiders and the Bulldogs would all benefit if the Dogs release Cotric to the Raiders so Mahoney can piss off to the Dogs and Hodgson joins the Eels in 2022.

  • I honestly think the Reed situation is all about money. Reports vary on what he was offered by us & what the dogs offered him. I in my opnion believe the Dogs deal would have been 3-400k more over the 3 years we offered him. That’s a lot of money to knock back, hence him leaving us. Don’t think ‘a fallout’ was the major factor in him leaving. Just an opnion
