Boredom kicks in during the off-season, and this blog is yet another social blog made in an attempt to pass time.
Thought I'd ask, who is in your opinion, the greatest musician to pick up and use a guitar.
I know it's hard to pick one, so I'll let you choose your 6 greatest guitarists of all-time.
In no particular order, mine are:
1. Slash
2. Santana
3. Jimmy Page
4. Allen Collins
5. Eric Clapton
6. David Gilmour
Also, your favourite guitar solo from any artist from any song ever made.
Mine would have to be a two-way time between Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb and Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird.

Can't argue with any of these!
my favourite guitarists:
1. Buck Dahma (Blue Oyster Cult)
2. Captain Sensible (The Damned)
3. Hendrix
4. Frank Zappa
5. Ross "The Boss" Friedman (Dictators, Manowar)
Also quite a fan of Buck, and I love Don't Fear The Reaper and Burnin' For You.
Never heard Ease BB, will have to look into it.
I know it's the longest solo, but I quite like the little parts in Rockin' In The Free World.
The Ocean. Might have to look into that one too by LZ.
I'm liking your taste in music there BillBlogs.
Though I have to add Devin Townsend, Buckethead, James Hetfield, and Tommy Emmanuel!
I saw Blue Oyster Cult live in Germany 1993. They were INCREDIBLE. Buck was ripping leads completely nonchalently, just blistering. Those two songs are the biggest hits they ever had - GREAT songs.
Just for good measure:
6. Pete Townshed (The Who)
7. Brian May (Queen)
8. Johnny Ramone (Ramones)
9. Ed Kuepper (The Saints)
10. Jimmy Page (can't leave him out)
Lucky!
One of the many bands that I would have loved to have seen live.
It's why I wish that one day, someone can invent a time-machine, so I can go back and watch all the great bands from the 60's, 70's & 80's, especially all the bands that have been mentioned here.
Big fan of Queen myself too.
Freddie Mercury was a genius. Shame he died so young though.
May was a great guitarist though.
Gotta say Brighton Rock and Killer Queen are my favourites, barring the all-time greatest hit for them, Bohemian Rhapsody.
Funnily enough, changing tact, it was actually Guitar Hero, the latest one, that introduced me to Burnin' For You from BOC.
Ricky, Blue Oyster Cult will be playing Sydney in May.
I am so there!
I'm actually going to the Santana concert in March. That should be incredible!
Thanks for the heads-up though :)
I'll be sure to get tickets if I can.
Cheers Ajax..
I'll keep an eye out for it for when tickets to do come out.
