Over the last 4 weeks the Eels seem to have adopted a different playing style and a different focus for each game.
Against Canberra, they tried to play them in the forwards and the backs didn't get enough ball.
It's like Brad Arthur says. "Lets be more agressive in our defence around the middle of the ruck."
The team does this but other skills seem to drop off. They then play a one dimensional game.
The team seem to have lost the ability to create opportunities for themselves.
Against Souths there appeared to be little communication going on.
The team has always been at their best playing at Bankwest. So the players obviously draw a lot of encouragement from the crowd.
Now that they don't have this and are living in the bubble I suspect this has affected the player relationships,
team dynamics and their capacity to work together.
A good coach should be able to read this and address it.
The best coaches are good man mangers as well as being good tacticians.
The inconsistency the Eels have shown recently points to a problem in both areas.
The team needs to look at the way Melbourne play, learn from their playbook
and ask advise from people like Perer Sterling and Andrew Johns.

So what you're saying is to sack Arthur absolutely immediately.
BA is too stubborn to take advise. Sterlo commented about the team after the raiders lose and BA dismissed the comment with "he`s entitled to his opinion". I believe the team is disgruntled because 2 players questioned tactics and got kicked off the team. Andrew Jones has been working with Moses on his kicking but all Moses can do is punt downfield, never seen a 40/20 attempt and grubbers thru the line are rare as hen`s teeth. BA has had a fair go it`s time to get drastic like other clubs do.
To be fair if I was BA I'd ignore Sterlos advice also. He hasnt played the modern game , nor has he been remotely involved in any coaching or team environment. He's a commentator. Just because he played for Parramatta doesn't mean BA or any coach for that matter should listen to him anymore then they'd listen to Andrew John's , Brad Fittler or Braith Anasta for that matter .
You see sterlos analysis after the first time Souths tore apart our right edge Wiz?
You are right clearly BA did ignore.
Reed Mahoney has been ruled out for the season
Shit
We need some major changes I think the coaching and the playing group needs a shakeup. This would be the squad I'd be fielding this week.
1. Gutherson
2. Sivo
3.Blake
4.Penisni
5.Fergo
6.D.Brown
7.Moses
8.Paulo
9.Lussick
10.Lane
11.Cartwright
12.Matterson
13.N.Brown
14.Papali'i
15.Kaufusi
16.Niukore
17.Smith
We are really missing impact off the bench and I feel Papali'i will give us that. Penisini offered more in attack than Opacic and I think he's defence is just as good. Cartwright is wasted on the bench so he's been promoted to the starting side to offer some spark to the left edge.
Look BA is nothing but predictable. He will not change and he will not listen. It's his way or the highway.
He has stuck by the same assistants and will not change them.
He has a basic game plan and that's it. He will not change it.
The team will continue this year with the same structures and the same game plan and the same people in the same positions.
His remedy is - more front loading effort. - that's it. That's all he has.
He is completely delusional if he thinks we are going to win the premiership this year. In fact, one would think that if he truly believes this, we should be very worried about his state of mind and his position in reality.
The only change we will have is due to injuries. The only change in the game plan is ... effort.
He has done everything he can, the little champion. The lemon is completely squeezed dry.
This is what is presented to the Board. This is the BA package. There are no surprises.
If they extend him or keep him in for 2022, it will be as above.
Murphy and Kidwell must be thanking their lucky stars on how they hitched a ride with BA for all these years.
If they were with the Storm or Roosters , they would have been unemployed years ago but good ol BA is always there for them.
The end result people is the only way to get change in BA is to sack him. ... and he really doesn't deserve it but it's the only way.
Mick they are team that look completely disillusioned and mentally spent, nothing left in the tank. And who's job is to get them up for it when they can't themselves?
not just them I've got the post game footy blues too😞
looked like that raiders game was the last nail in coffin and they did bust their guts in that. doubted they'd win another game after that then tbh
So I don't think he is completely right it's the bigger picture, for me, this time it's not their lazy fault as a group that's the reason at all.
besides not that different to last year really, just worse and they all see the writing on wall this time, especially Guts!
Like I said I've got the blues. You know when the thrill is gone it's gone :(

I think there's something going on in that bubble. I watched Lane & Brown inetreviewed by the press mid-week and I didn't see anything that showed me they were hurting from the canberra performance. I honnestly think the bubble is not working for them and the coach is not seeing it.
