Moylan out

Cronulla Sharks have been dealt a massive blow before Saturday night's stoush with the Parramatta Eels with Matt Moylan out with a hamstring injury. The star five-eighth suffered the injury at training on Wednesday night and the club has been given an exemption by NRL head of football Brian Canavan to bring Trent Hodkinson into the 21-man squad.Cronulla did not name Hodkinson in their 21-man squad on Tuesday night but he will be allowed to make his first Telstra Premiership appearance as a Shark in the No.22 jersey. The Sharks were allowed to make the late inclusion because Canavan was comfortable that "a rigorous process was applied in ensuring the right outcome was reached".Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan, earlier on Friday, announced Paul Gallen had been cleared to play against the Eels but fellow veteran forward Luke Lewis would not be making his return from a foot injury until next weekend.

  • This is BS, they've been allowed to replace him with Hodkinson outside of the 21man squad where the rule is u have to choose someone from the 21

    • I don't care that they were able to pick their next best player. So what? As long as they are now consistent with this scenario.
  • Oh yeah, the NRL's "So you're playing the Eels Rule"

  • yes the Storm used the rule last night to replace Kenny Bromwich with someone from outside the 21.

  • I am pretty sure that the Eels received the same dispensation at some point last year

  • It ain't a hammy Moylan has been a naughty boy.
    • A bloke at work is involved with a junior team in the Penrith comp and he say's a former panthers player told him Moylan is a bit of a grub.

    • There is a story doing the rounds about a player at a new club openly doing lines of coke in a Sydney night club, could it be?

    • See above

"Pops, great points. This year, Hawkins held his own at 6 or 7 when Moses was in or out, so I’d keep him. But two points stand out:

Bellamy trusts Pezet at 6. Why?
