Gutted we lost but thought we played really well in a lot of aspects of the game. The elephant in the room for me was our set management and 5th tackle options. We have been terrible at this for years, maybe ever since Norman has been here although not sure it was his fault initially. Norman played really well but Norman being the dominant half is not working and has never worked. Time to see if Moses can do a better job. Hopefully, our lack of size in the middle is now being addressed as critical.
I did not mind the French kick on the 1st (French is starting to play well) - not generally a good idea but if you think it is on then have no problem with a player backing themselves occasionally. Also have no problem with Guth’s F-up. These things happen. But our failure to take the two points needs a royal commission. This was stupid and not a once off. Especially since Our chance of scoring tries has been low this season. Most of the time when you have a 99% chance of 2 points versus a less than 25% chance of 4-6 points you will score more points by taking the 2. 25% times 4-6 points is 1-1.5 points. Plus the team that gets the 2penalty points is the team that more often than not scores next. The dogs got the next try after all their penalties. Whoever was involved in deciding not to take the 2 points has very poor decision making. Not saying we should have done I every time. There are other considerations like wanting to wear the other team out, but most of those penalties should have seen 2 points.
Bottom line, Would like to see Moses given the reigns and see if our set management improves.
also so would love to see Moses play SOO. Would be great for his development, would like to see what he can do at this level. His form is picking up again. He is nailing his kicks again and taking on the line again. Think he deserves it and Fittler knows what he is capable of.

Moses did great in the World Cup. Reckon he would step up for SOO and he would come back a better player and ready to be the dominant half. If Moses can’t be a dominant half then we should be looking elsewhere
I really like Moses and believe he is the half to lead our club forward but he still has a bit to learn. Both him and Norman's 5 tackle options have left a lot to be desired of late. On occasions they have been good but nowhere near consistent enough.
The last two games we have lost when the Eels are struggling to get out of out own half they have both put up bombs from within our own half that have been caught by the opposition around there 20 or 30 and carried back to about the halfway mark for the first tackle giving them great field position. It has me stumped why they do that?
In the first half there were almost no bombs put up and they were just going for good field position and it was working great. Then in the second half when the team was tired and struggling to get out of our half it was the Eels bombing from our 40m line. I believe that is what cost us the game and Gutho's blunder was the icing on the cake.
Very disappointed in the boys right now.
Thought the kicking was excellent last night.
Why was it not a knock on?
if the ball is knocked forward and touches the ground or opposing player it is a knock on
it was already on the ground - not sure that changes anything
It was a knock on. Touched the ball with one hand, no downward pressure, promoted the ball forward and then grounded with his other hand. That's a knock on.
The trapped in goal, that was wrong and should have been a 20m restart. That could've changed the game.
