Everyone needs to get behind Jake over this next month, he's our backup half and deserves his chance to steer the team around.
Now before you get your backs up, i'm against carrying him on the bench when Moses is in the team and hate the way BA plays him over a forward or a more dynamic player... but if you boo our 19yo backup half you're a mug.
Let him focus on his job and make sure he's thinking about his game plan and not why us fans don't support him.
Disagree. If BA was impartial he'd know that Jake isn't up to it and would look at a stronger line up with more NRL experience. Eg) Gutho to halves and Perham to FB OR Matterson to 5/8. JA's form as a starting NRL half is appalling with his win % diabolical. If we're serious about winning JA is not in the 17.
Brad won't leave his son out absolutely no chance. If not in the 17 Brad has him as the 18th with jersey on and hanging around the sheds whilst better players sit in reserve grade. 100% Jake will be the 7
Mutts, Maybe instead of "diabolical" we could use "underwhelming"; kinder perhaps.
When Athur is in the halves for 80 mins we're statistically worse than 2018; scoring less but conceding more. It also hints at the importance of the Moses/Dylan combo.
It also suggests indirectly our win ratio and stats improve the less minutes he plays.
I suppose you could argue 2 years (from R10, 2021, his debut) is a small sample size, and take the chief playmaker from any team and they'll struggle.
I'm not arguing about nepotism and actually agree with you Mutt, I know we're a weaker team with JA at halfback... but who isn't with their backup half?
Im just saying that booing him isn't going to help us win games. We know he's going to play, just let him get his head into the best possible mindset so we at least have a chance of winning.
Well what is it? You think JA is the solution in the current circumstances? He is not. I have nothing against him, he has some talent and I hope he gets there, but he is not up to it at present. He has so much more to develop and I hope he does. If BA, thinks he is ready and able to take us through to the finals, then I give up. That will be BA's death knell as far as I am concerned. Yet another fault in our so called system. No genuine back up.
Agree with this take EE, I think Jake will be BA's undoing as a coach and not providing the team with a better backup half. I don't know what dad wouldn't go all-in on his son? This is the problem the board to recognise and take action on because we need the coach to be making the best decisions for his team, not his son.

X a billion this is the ultimate test for BA and the nepotism argument
In 2021 when Jakob played half the stats are ugly. We won 1/4, & got hammered 0-28 by Roosters, 6-40 by Penrith.
Actually, whenever Jakob plays 80 mins either 6 or 7 in the halves (2021-2022) we are statistically worse than 2018 scoring less, conceding more.

Otherwise the fans are sabotaging our own team.

Who's going to do all the long kicking? I can't see any of those option working without taking Dylan Brown from his strengths.
JA has only played 4 starting games, with one being in a nsw cup squad against a panthers team. Than it is a 1/3 record.
I would be giving the kid ago with Matterson, Cartwright helping out with some attacking options and telling him to focus on kicking and defensive
