Tomorrow we head into the begining of our run towards the finals. Its a big game against Penrith, and we will need our big guns to step up. Non more important than Mitch Moses. In 2021 he has racked up 15 games, 2 tries, 12 try assists, 9 dropouts, 5 offloads scoring 122 points, 34 tackle breaks, and 5 line breaks. Now 26 years old and in his 9th season of NRL having debuted in 2014 for the Tigers, having just secured a new contract to stay with the Eels untill 2024.
One gets the feeling the time has come for Mitch Moses to shake the monkey off his back, its time to stand up in a tough big game, throw our team on his back and lead them around the park. Our run from now to finals time include the Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Manly, Raiders and Bunnies, all these games are against sides in the running for top 8 honours. If he stands up and carries us to a mighty win tomorrow night, a State of Origin spot beckons in game III.
The question is will Mitch Moses come of age tomorrow night, lead us around, dominate the game and when its in the balance take it by the scruff of the neck and take us to an almighty win. If he can its the first step on our way to this years premiership, if he cant one feels it may just be another long season, where we fall just short at the end of the year. So what are peoples opinions, will he come of age or not.

Probably not
It's a valid question Bluey, although in my opinion the bigger issue is not whether he can turn it on tomorrow night (he has plenty of talent and has demonstrated he can lead the team to impressive wins) the issue is can he do it consistently throughout all these games (and when the bounce of the ball isn't going our way) Likely scenario (based off past performance) he will play well when we are on top in a handful of those last games, and will seem a bit lost for the remainder of the time.
Disclaimer: in no way am I having a go at him, I think he has a great deal of talent, it is just my couch coach opinion 😉
Do we need another post on this subject ? This subject has been done to death.
This site is becoming extremely boring
Sorry Brett, i thought it was relevant, Moses needs to step up another gear in my opinion to one win tomorrow night, 2 beat the top 5 teams on our way to the finals, 3 set himself up for an origin debut, and 4 step up consistently over the next 10 weeks and beyond. I get the feeling tomorrow night will be a huge indicator and a milestone game for Moses. I think he will stand up with so much on the line, others maybe not feel the same way. The question i posed was will he come of age tomorrow night. If this has been done to death feel free not to read it or participate and the blog will die a natural death within a few hours.
He doesn't need to step up another gear, he just needs to do what he's been doing this season so far. Part of Mitch's growth the last two seasons is his willingness to not try to do everything.
I get you're nervous about the game, as am I.
Nervous for our season, i think we are close as i ve said before, but believe we are missing that real x factor player, one of the people in our team that can be that is Moses. With so many things on the line tomorrow night, i see it as a very real indicator for our year. This game needs Moses to come of age, and put that consistency together from here on in. It was around this time of the year in 09 that a Hayne plane took off. We need that now and moving forward.
We also need more speed in the backline. We desperately need a gamebreaking 3 pr 4 for mine.We all know Mitch can play. It is a shame he is not more consistent. Hope he kills it tonight. Go Parra. Bring it home.
I agree and have been talking about this for ages. There is one solution to that within our current squad. To swap Gutherson with Dylan Brown. Brown has all the attributes to be a top young fullback..
You've had 15 rounds to determine whether Moses is ready for Origin. It doesn't all hinge on tomorrow night and he's not required to dominate the game to be considered for Origin either. He just needs to do his job, nothing spectacular then it's up to selectors.
Btw I'm watching the Storm put 46 on the Roosters and neither Hughes or Munster have dominated. They've just done their jobs and played well.
I don't agree with this concept that tomorrow's game is do or die for Mitchell.
