MORTIMER TO HAVE A GOOD YEAR

We all saw the potential Mortimer had in his first year in 2009, I dont know if it's just me, but i think Mortimer will have a great year in 2011 after pretty much suffering second year sydnrome in 2010, which isn't always a bad thing, it happens to many players, especially halfbacks. He will learn a lot from 2010, and I think he will be a great player in 2011.

What you guys think? U reckon he will do good this year?

  • Im not sure, yeah i think his contract expires this season. His chance to help make the club decide whether to keep him or not. Either way if he does good or bad i think we should keep him i mean, he is young and he is one of our only players to a decent halfback in the future.

If he gets good enough he would be perfect for NSW, he is young and he would play in the team for years and fit in perfectly, just like Thurston, NSW gotta pick a young team from now and stick with it.

  • For him to make origin over the likes of soward and pearce would be an absolute travesty.
  • i think thats abit harsh stiff hes a mortimer m8 he has footy in his blood.

    Thats potential.

  • He is contracted until the end of 2012, he's 250K contract starts this year.
  • I like Mortimer but unfortunetely he is by far the worst current halfback in the NRL. I would drop him personally or atleast put him to 5/8th. His kicking game is horrible, he always for some reason runs right up to the line and delivers a risky short ball and he just doesnt make any good decisions or take control of the game like a quality halfback should. I wish we had resigned Kris Keating instead of him. I hope he proves me wrong this year though as I'd love to see a quality Mortimer playing in Parramatta colours.
  • Forwards on a roll with Hayne getting good service (instead of trying to make all the breaks for himself) and Morts will shine again.

Just had a funny thought - that is what is making Cooper Cronk so damm good.

Great forward pack with a FB just waiting for the smallest chance. LOL

Is SK onto something when he says he sees similarities?

    LMAO

  • I only said "similarities" stiffler.

Don't get greedy now - you can't have everything. lol

  • IM feeling the same way parraborn morts will have a big year. He looks to have put some good size on him wich will only help.Like u said 2010 season will help him develope and better him self as player im looking for huge improvements in all aspects of his game and i think 2011 will be the making of DANIEL MORTIMER. Lets get behind this kid hope he dose well.
  • I'm not sure if he is going to turn into a brilliant half but I think we at least need to give him another season to prove himself.

Anybody remember when Thurston began at the Dogs?

To run a quality team around the park is a tough ask for a young, relatively inexperienced half, especially if the team is struggling like the Eels did last season.

I'm reserving my judgement till the end of the season. I really hope he fires though.
