Moroa, Tanginoa, Edwards, Pauli &Terepo

I think these young guys will improve significantly this year and we may even see Moroa push for representative selection (country v city).

Assuming Scott, Watmough, Ma'u, Mannah, Wicks & Paulo will hold down positions (when fit), these young guys are going to battle it out for game time from the bench. Without the pressure of starting each week, they will be well placed to develop their games, draw from the experience around them and their weaknesses will be less exposed with shorter game minutes.

Additionally, I anticipate winning more of the tighter games with Foran and Norman in the halves, which will be great for building morale and confidence in our young squad.

I know its a long way off, but can't wait for the season to start!

  • It's often said but Pauli needs to be more aggressive when he runs, reminds me of a huge lumbering great dane .BA seems to be quite old school when it comes to the players hes chosen and his attitude in general, with most of our forwards being fearless hardheads it seems That Paulie is the weekest link .
  • Paulo and Mannah will be the starting props with Scott and Ma'u 2nd row and Watmough lock. Wicks will be 1 bench and can see Edwards and Moeroa also on the bench. Pauli seems to be lazy and would need to improve as well as Terepo who IMO has not come on  or improved. The smokie is Alvaro who could sneak into the other bench spot if he keeps improving. Another is Kelpie, if he improves may also battle for the bench spot.

    • Forgot about Alvaro. good point.

I can see them all getting a go through injuries, particularly to Watmough and Scott through the season.

    • I dont necessarily see Scott and Watmough being starters. To put Moroa back on the bench after he played a whole year with one shoulder would be a set back.
  • I'm backing all of them in to get some game time throughout the season and I disagree re Terepo and Tanginoa. Both have shown enough to give me hope they can be useful first graders; they are ultra aggressive in attack and defence. If they reduce their error counts, both can be damaging impact players.

  • ps, getting rid of Tep and Edwards would be brain dead. No personal offence intended.

  • Edwards needs to be re-registered by the NRL after pissgate last year.
    • What do you mean re pissgate? I wasn't aware of any off field issues since joining the Eels.

    • Mate him and Kaysa got caught swapping urine samples last year. Neither sample was bad however????
    • Dont know mate
