Morgs to Fullback

We are in a fullback crisis since the Princess left.Floppa is not up to the task.Robinson is giving it a red hot go,but I feel we are weakening both the wing and the fullback position playing him there. With big Semi coming back ,I feel that Robinson would be better utilised on the wing.

As passing is not a major requirement for the wing how but putting the Morgster at fullback? He has plenty of speed and guts, although I'm not too sure how good he is under a bomb, surely he must have better hands than someone like Toutai.

Despite the cruel taunts by many on this site towards the Morgzilla,I like the kid as he always tries, maybe not very successfully at times, but I'm a fan of the little bloke. He reminds me of a little yapping Yorkshire Terrier, always on the go.

Obviously we need to look for a fulltime fullback, but I feel Morgs to FB and Robinson to the wing is a wiser use of our player resources.

  • It has merit but morgs won't be here next year robbo is likely to be here so not sure if its worth persisting with him
  • Few too many tonight?
  • I like you Tom, think Robinson is better winger and then fullback. I also think we don't have a first rate fullback in our squad with the exception of possibly Norman. I kind of watch each week waiting for Bureta Faraimo to be found out, but to his credit he keeps proving me wrong.

I would like see Morgan given a crack at fullback, i think he would surprise a few with his involvement levels i suspect he has quite the engine and could sustain a lot of work at a good enough quality.

  • Toutai actually goes to fullback first for Wenty, like in Round 1 before he was injured himself and in the Tigers game when Quinlan moved into the halves Toutai was the one playing fullback with Morgan playing centre. If we were going to go with non-fullback to play fullback, he would be the first one picked there imo.

  • If Ryan Morgan can not get the fundamentals right in his preferred position of centre over the past 5 years, I think I can say with confidence he has absolutely no chance of playing fullback.

    Next question?

    • Hmm maybe he isn't a centre then?
  • Defo with u tom - morgs is a better player than he's given credit for
    • I'm with ya mate.
  • I'm obviously in support of your positive sentiments Tommy but I wouldn't exactly be referring to Morgz as a little bloke! Dudes 6ft 1, 95kg and has very deceptive strength.

I wouldn't be playing the champ at fullback, I thought wing but Jason Taylor beat us all to it and declared him a backrower.

When you think of his skill sets ; speed, hole running ability, strength and defence it's really a great call and Morgz would be damaging at 11 or 12. I have a lot of respect for Jason Taylor and have had for a while.

JT may teach the Parra fans how to suck eggs if he signs Morgz
    • Morgan 6' 1 ??? Must have been wearing lifts in his boots when they measured him. 95 kg? The bloke looks 5' 9 and 85kg

"Some players need to get sacked from a club and risk losing it all before they really knuckle down and put in the work.  Why did he get sacked, was it lack of discipline for footy and training or off field issues?"
