  • I hope he is playing like an old man. The Roosters currently under the salary cap, unbelievable. In the words of a Mr Toovey "There needs to be an investigation - Somebody has to investigate this" hahahaha

    • The NRL don't want to investigate the Roosters, as they are scared at what they might find and have to make public.

  • The games he played for Toronto were very average at best, SBW is 35 and hasn't played NRL in years - a great player in his days but good luck getting anywhere near up to the speed of the current game in 10 weeks

  • Massive boost the roosters premiership hopes. As with CHN going to raiders. They will have him and Bateman back next week. Really helps them out coming into the back end of the season

  • He'll be shit. His games for Toronto show he has already retired mentally.

  • It's a disgrace this salary cap.

Theres simply no way in hell you can win a comp keep the core group and then buy one of the most expensive players on the market. Sorry this one stinks.

  • Watching NRL 360.
These journos couldn't be more gushing of the Roosters, Politis, SBW. Absolutely made me sick!  Clearly they are all desperate to be on the right side of Uncle Nick and wouldn't say a bad thing at all about this deal.
Ikin suggested some fans may question SBW signing with a side that's just won two Premierships. The rest of the panel couldn't shut him down quick enough. Ensuring all the viewers that The Roosters are the best at the business side of things, they have room in the cap, they haven't spent Cronk's money. Excuses excuses excuses. Made me want to vomit.

For mine SBW will be garbage anyway. He's done. But once again The Roosters just sign whoever they like and everyone just nods and lets them get away with it. It's a joke!

    • Yeah Muttman, just watched NRL360 "NRL from everyone angle my ass"!

    • Nrl 360 journos - watched it too, sort of get the feeling they have their nose in Uncle Nicks trough as well. One gets suspicious that if the players / staff can get cars, units , spousal jobs, investment opportunities, then why not include the media in the same benefits.  Brings the whole charade under uncle Nicks umberella then. Food for thought.

      • I have no doubt whatsoever. Maybe nothing overt. More just about being in the in-crowd, invited to the lunches and dinners and parties, access to business connections etc. As a journo there's no doubt it pays to be on Uncle Nicks good side.

"When you change coaches you need to expect some players to chase the money elsewhere because there is no relationship with the new coach. Ryles is now building the squad with the players that fit his style. It's nobody's fault, it's just how it goes."

A lot of the best coaches weren't very good players, and a lot of brilliant players aren't good coaches."
