In contrast to the disaster which was our finals campaign last year with poor form, injuries, suspensions, drug tests etc etc, this year we have the BIG M surging in our favour.
- we come into week 2 fit, fresh and chocka-block full of confidence
- we get the right outcome at the MRC, Jnr and Marata both play
- we physically dominated Newcastle running 1879 metres run through Newastle & a whopping 607 post contact metres ...Papali'i 194 minutes off the bench
- we will play at a neutral venue nullifying any home ground advantage Penrith would have had
- we meet Penrith off an unexpected loss
- Ivan Cleary gets his ass handed to him in the mind games by Bennett
- we will go in as underdogs with ALL the pressure on Penrith who've shown they are very beatable
I know as Parra fans we have a chronically half empty glass, but IMO we have plenty of reasons to be upbeat and get this win over the riff then march on to the Storm.

The $4.20 at the TAB is appealing😊😊
Chuck it in a multi with the Roosters and Western Bulldogs and it pays 30X
nice!
That's actually very attactive! I personally think the Melbourne Demons and Sea Eagles will win their respective games, but they're some great odds!
Hey BM what an absolute bummer how swannies went out in that nail biter. Between them and Parra there’s too much holding breath going on huh?
Parra will need to do it for ya :)
Yeah mate I was surprised at the juicy odds.
I was looking at the favourites but betting on them pays so little it is hardly worth the gamble.
The outsiders are paying pretty well, especially Parramatta.
Penrith are a very good regular season team with quality all over the park but I've maintained all along they would fall over in the finals because I do not believe they have the middle forwards to win the comp.
They've given us a 12.5 start but Penrith are not a team that will dominate a final. In these last 2 years their win/loss ratio is 50-50 and they have only just scrapped in their 2 wins
That's what I think about the Panthers. Solid but not the champion side everyone is suggesting. Even Cleary - yes he's technically one of the best halfbacks ever if not even the best. But he's not going to crack open a game with his running.
We really should have beaten the Knights by 20 points we are leaving tries out there. I still think we are a centre short. Penisini looks to be the goods but Blake is not a good centre. He runs the wrong lines and doesn't know how to attract his opposite. If we can attract another gun centre next year with Penisini I reckon we start flogging sides.
Yes, spot on. Blake is not a good centre. In attack, a good centre draws the opposite winger and centre into him and sets up his winger. All players know that Blake only has a left foot step back into the field, directly into the sliding middle defence. This is why I would still put Marata at centre with Penisini. Early in the year, Marata also drew the defence and slipped the flick to his winger and his defence is good as well. I would keep Blake, but put him on the wing.
