OK folks. I get some of you get very distressed when the side loses. Even when its the first game of the season, and you're playing without your best player, another of your marquee signings is missing and it's the first NRL match for a brand, new halves combination.
However, seriously. This site is not some kind of Ultimate Fighting ring for people to simply rip shreds off each other. Moderating this site over the past week has been almost impossible. I'd suggest I've deleted over a hundred comments this past week, and quite frankly I just don't have time to baby sit the site to this extent.
Unfortunately, this has forced me to put a Language Filter in place. My hope is that as things settle down a bit, I can lighten off on this regard but right now the combination of abuse and language is just making moderation too painful.
Secondly, I have a new facility as part of the platform, which allows me to create member categories. I have a few ideas for this, but my first is that there is a now a Member Category called 'Sin Bin'. If you're put in the Sin Bin, you will have a badge attached to your avatar for a week. While in the Sin Bin you're basically on parole. One piece of abuse directed at any member while in the Sin Bin will result in immediate suspension. For some of you that just can't help yourself, you might be better to just take the week off.
I'm going to log all of this in a thread I've created in the 1Eyed Eel category called the '1Eyed Eel Judiciary'.
For the moment, until I see how this works, I'm going to take sole responsibility for putting people in the Sin Bin and for suspensions. If you have taken offence at any abuse, feel free to direct me towards it.
So please. You all support the same club. You have differing opinions and you're welcome to express them, but because someone has a differing opinion to you, does not give you license to abuse them. And if someone does abuse you, don't fall to the same level, because you're just going to end up in the Bin as well.
P.S. Parramatta can you please win this week. It makes my life a lot easier.

Agree with your actions Phil as I was getting ready to stay away from here if it went on much longer.
YEP - I have had more than my fair share of whinges but I do not attack other members.

Though is it possible on this site to select some members and put them on an ignore list, so that I don't even have to see their posts? There's only 1 or 2 I have in mind, and let's say they could really do with some SIN...Binning!
There will always be dumb comments made, and people will never see eye to eye 100% of the time, and disagreements are fine. But when the attacks become specific (e.g. the rape comment about a cheerleader on a pic) they should get 1 strike, you’re out..
Great Idea , hope it includes some of the really foul language posted especially found on the Luke Burt thread. Please include sinbinning posters who use the "c" word in a post. It's offensive.
