The story of Mitchell Moses' 2017 season has unfolded like a story from the minds behind soap opera's Neighbours or Home Away. His 'will he or won't he' midseason move to the Eels was the subject of endless speculation. The volume of this speculation was then matched by the eagerness of many to find fault in the Parramatta' big buy's early performances for the Eels.

Seven games into his tenure in blue and gold and the signs are much rosier than some of the early negative reviews. Having settled into the structures of his new team, the young half has started to blossom in his new surroundings. Again against the Storm his kicking game was of vital importance to the team, with his ability to force repeat sets a key plank in the Eels' ability to build pressure against the competition leaders.

His value has not only been limited to his kicking game, his passing and running game were on show against the Storm too. His ability to sum up the situation and make the right decision saw him involved in three of the Eels four tries. Scoring one himself he also created tries for Bevan French and Clint Gutherson with his deft passing.

With five wins to show for his first seven starts for the Eels, hopes are high that his time in Sydney's West will be fruitful for team and individual alike.

  • Loving what I am seeing from MM at present.  To slot in to a team so quickly is amazing.  He will only get better and better under BA, especially when he seems so happy to be here.  I had concerns about his defence, but he has even stepped up in that regard since being here.  Good signs for the future.

    • Spot on EE. He's done well - kicking, passing and his defence has been good over last few weeks. I've noticed the crispness of the passing. Been good,
    • EE very nice post mate.
    • Totally agree, and he will only get better
  • Lmfao
  • Moses destroyed the Cowboys in NQ playing for the Tigers earlier in the year Fong , Thurston and all. He showed his skills that night.
  • Have to admit I wasn't over the moon when I heard we were/had signed him. But I have liked what I have seen so far. His D has improved 10 fold and he is not over plYing his hand. Him and Corey could be starting a beautiful relationship in the halves (lol)
  • That's fair point Fongy. His first couple of games defence was not good, and I out part down to communication. But I've noticed his ball n all efforts over last fees weeks. Time will tell but I'm seeing good.
  • Fongi this post was undeserving for a player still coming to terms with a mid season switch
  • Seriously Fong I've endured your death riding of our team and taken it in good humour. But enough. Moses is a young Parra junior representing us and playing well. He's clearly a young and talented player but your posts are nothing but disrespectful. I'm yet to read a positive post about our team from you. It shows a clear pattern of negative and pessimistic thinking.
Fong it's easy to be a super critic. Eventually you'll be right and we'll lose a game and predictably you'll be on here pontificating about our bush coach and our complete lack of hope for the future. It comes to a point where your 'realism' is nothing more than schadenfreude. Stop taking such delight in our weaknesses and try just a little to celebrate our successes. You're meant to be a fan of our club. Please try just a little to act like a win is something to be celebrated.

"Start Samrani either centre or wing. He smashed the sharks and the chooks. Was fast, tackle-busting and once he set his eyes on the try line it was curtains for the opposition.
I'd start him on the wing as not to disrupt Rusty and the combos set up…"
