I like Moses and hope we re-sign him but the thing he needs to fix most is his 5th tackle kicking options and particularly when the Eels are under pressure.
He is way to predictable as he will almost always put up a bomb and from within our own half. When we aren't able to get out of our own half and the team is obviously struggling, a bomb when no one is chasing isn't the option that is needed. He needs to kick for the sidelines or just simply punt it down field towards the try line. Now it can be frought with danger as if it goes dead the oposition gets a 7 tackle set but if our team isn't any chance of competing for the ball because they are spent from tackling and haven't had any ball, then this is when Moses needs to go into game control mode and slow it down by kicking for the sidelines or at least into space and make the opostion run for the ball instead of simply getting underneath it and then having plenty of time to run up the field.
Moses also need to consider kicking early in the count and going for the sideline. Again, when we are getting rolled and our players aren't able to chase because of all the defensive work they have done. Slow the game down. It wasn't all his fault be this is the part of his game/game management that he really needs to work on. Not ever play has to be something that we can compete for. Sometimes simply slowing the game down to give our guys a chance to catch their breath and slow or stop the other teams momentem is exactly what is needed.

Yes, the midfield bombs from 2018 have returned for Moses twice: raiders and now Knights.
Note in each case we were not getting forward momentum and also D Brown was out. Overall, the Eels cannot afford to have just one kicker when the going gets tough
Agreed. With Mitch as the only kicking option it is very easy for teams to target him on fith tackle which is why he needs to add kicking early for the sideline. Simply slow the game down and stop or slow the other teams momentum.
Agreed Matt. He needs to kick for touch much more often. Inevitably the opposition will collect the bomb and the first tackle is near the halfway line anyway. A scrum would give our defenders a rest and give them a chance to keep the opposition near their own goal line.
Brown was good, we just need him back. Hope he is right to play soon or it will be a long season.
So if we can all see this throughout a game why can’t BA get a message out to him on the ground?
Its this sort of stuff that makes you question the coaching - these are the interventions a coach has to make.
I was gonna say "If we had Dylan Brown and Nathan Brown playing for us today, we would've won". But it quickly dawned on me that the referees, touchies, and bunker, all would've just increased the amount of RIP-OFF DECISIONS against us.
Yep in general MM has always had a ordinary kicking game, now and then he gets it right, Gutho as our leader needs to be kicking more, or Reed from dummy.
I ageee i like mosses to but we dont have to score of every kick but in this game refs made it hard for us with the 10 meters and the ruck speed also them playing the ball of the mark and our defence had no chance especially our markers
This blaming the refs thing is getting old after every loss we were out played the knights had great line speed and won the ruck we are not a team who can compete when things go against us
Can someone tell me how salmon cannot kick a ball or is Moses that controlling? Surely Salmon is Gutho can stand on either side so that we have another option... these guys are first graders and you’d think the coach would be pick up on it....
