Mitch Rein and Curtis Scott

Has anyone heard any news behind Mitch Rein and Curtis Scott? I know there were rumours and articles saying they had signed but never any confirmation from the club or pictures of them at training... very confusing..

    • Well that solves the Mitch Rein issue... I wonder why they didn't announce him as a signing...

  • Curtis Scott has the stalking hurdle that has arisen. No doubt the NRL may not register the contract until that is resolved.

    • If the NRL don't register him on those grounds than it's a very very sad state of affairs.  A woman can lodge a complaint that an ex walked past her house and all of a sudden the NRL won't register him until he can prove it wasn't for stalking purposes in the courts . It's pretty fucked considering he didn't have any legal orders against him saying he couldn't be walking past her house.  Funnily she didn't make any complaints until she heard he was getting his life in order with a new contract at Parramatta .

You'd think the NRL would've learned a thing or two with the amount of NRL players that've been proven no case to answer. There's no way on Earth I'd be in the toothless players Union if I was an NRL player.

      • Mate sadly, that is the way of the so called modern world.  It sadly applies almost everywhere.

      • I'd say Scott's history is part of this, plus the ongoing police investigation. Highly unlikely the NRL registers a player whose previous contract was terminated due to an assault if police are investigating them for stalking.

They register him and he's charged then he's suspended while we're lumped with a salary and chewed up roster spot.

        • Let's not forget he was cleared of any wrongdoing against the police and in fact the police now have a legal case to answer for telling big porkie pies.  Scott was the victim in that whole police bullshit saga. He's suing them . So what are we left with that he's actually done. One minor incedent in a nightclub which is less than some of the NRLs biggest stars have been done for over the years.

the dudes getting treated pretty fucking poorly and you wouldn't be too far wrong if you claimed the NSW police may have an axe to grind. We can terminate his contract just like every other club seems to be able to get away with these days when a player steps out of line that's surplus to their requirements.

as far as I'm aware Scott has no history of stalking or domestic violence ? He's had one bar fight which he wasn't even charged for  . Other than that he was a victim of corrupt police .now he may be very well a victim of a disgruntled ex.

          • Wiz, the Mole continually makes mention of other issues or conflicts that have occurred in the recent past around or involving Scott, he doesn't say what they are (on legal grounds I believe) but claims he is an absolute shit human.

Regularly tweets or responds to tweets about it.

Like most journos you wouldn't know what is fact or fiction so take which ever way you will - but i sense that where there is smoke there is fire....maybe that has come out behind closed doors and why nothing has progressed.????

            • The NRL can't register or not register players based on what the mole says mate.  He either has criminal charges against him or he doesn't. As it stands the blokes no more a criminal than james Tedesco or Turbo or any of their other golden children. They bang on about player walfare and mental health when it suits them and then put players through the ringers with shit like this when it's not mental health week, it boils my blood these days with corporations just ticking boxes to give the illusion they're in on the latest workplace trends. . If I'm him I'm setting my legal dogs onto the NRL if they're refusing to register me.  They managed to sue the police , well it's about time  another player had a crack at the NrL like Todd carney did.

          • Scott was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm after an alleged punch at a night club this year. That case is still before the courts, Wiz. He'll appear in Canberra Magistrates Court on Monday for a hearing.

I'm not referring to his bullshit assaulting police charges from two years ago.
