Missed opportunities to New Opportunities

At the end of 2016 two pick ups that we should have gotten were Ben Hunt & Mitch Rein. They would have complimented the eels perfectly. Mitch Rein is so under rated. Strong, durable, doesnt get injured, is an inteligent player has good vision, and chews up lots of meters from dummy half. Has the exact work ethic and mentality that BA looks for and i see him shocking ppl and thriving under Brad Author and becoming a real leader.We missed out on some really good pieces there.. So next year out of the off contract players available, we have to go all out for Jason Tomololo & Luke Brookes if u ask me.Unless Gutherson shocks everyone and becomes an over night sensation but im not confident that will happen. Heres hoping im wrong though.In order to pull both signings off it would likely mean losing Tepai and semi is already gone.When Semi goes we dont need any new outside backs we got plenty of strike in reserves or Gutherson can slot back in on the wing assuming that he doesnt become an over night sensation at 6 which will set up a possible future halves combination of Norman & Brookes for 2018.A key factor in luring both Tomo and Brookes will be how well the eels can do this season as well as having the money.Tomo aint leaving NQL to play with a bottom 8 team even for 1.2M per year. UNLESS J.T retures, THEN he might consider it.The eels need to have a good season in order to win the minimal amount of good signatures available next year.That is ofcourse if we still hope to win a premiership or 2 by 2020 as planned

    Not Brooks defense is weak plus then you have 2 left footed kickers in your halves. Id chase moses or one of the titans young halves.
    I think the hooker situation will be the 1st thing fixed.
