So, now that we've started to show some interest in the Milf and have given him an option, it looks like his management is trying to use the media to gain some undeserved leverage. It's a cringeworthy ploy to boost his asking price, and or increase the contract length which doesn't bode well with me. It's also offensive (imo) that his management is even trying this when we're giving him an opportunity to play finals footy behind a good pack (when frankly he doesn't deserve anything over Will Smith) and potentially boost his next contract or allow him to earn one with us for next year.
Quote from the article; "there are fears a short-term deal with the Eels could do more harm than good for his chances of gaining a longer-term deal at another club starting next season."
This is a brilliant opportunity for Parra to flex a little here and tell both his management and Milford to get f*@ked, then politely pull the offer and tell him good luck with his next contract. He can try and earn it playing in the Queensland Cup and see how good he goes from there...

Agree Will is tried and tested doubt BA would push him off the bench in lieu.
Others were mentioning a short term contract for him but I wondered how that would benefit him in reserves. What difference would it make to him in our reserves vs theirs?
of course he should head off to wherever he is going to be next year, and doubt that's with us.
Sam Ayoub would be busy with Gutho contract and just hope this isn't managers working in mysterious ways?
This deal only works for the Eels if its low cost and we lose nothing if it doesn't work out.
Now that Milford has a tiny bit of interest, you can't blame his management from leveraging that for a longer term, higher value option. Personally, I hope they find it at another club.
I don't mind him finding another contract, but it's poor form to use us as leverage when we're the only one's giving him an option to play in the finals when he deserves a second spoon.
Hes a bum, the last player we need and it would be a slap in the face for those whove put in the hard yards here.
The kid wont put in when hes on 1m, hes been shit in QLD cup, what makes people think we will squeeze any decent juice from him?.
BA will prob sign him long term if he's here for the end of this year, BAs the dope who signed Waqa for 4 years.
Nothing good will come from Mildope being here, hes a 1st class bum.
Corey Norman offers a hell of a lot more, might as well get him back ffs.
Whats wrong with people.
I don't want him here either. Show me a game in the last 3 years where he's played well?
Waqa was a bit different. We had very few options and the Panthers were paying a big part of his wage.
Spot on muttly, ive watched him closely the last few years, hes been a big part of the broncs demise on the park, lazy and lacking hunger too, the exact type of player we dont need in our culture.
BA should be thinking about how to get the best out of Bryce, not looking to buy an overrated bum.
He doesnt deserve to play finals footy, its a joke and very rich of him to be expecting that.
Hes been a lazy kent at the broncs, why should somebody have to step aside here to accomodate the bum?
Its the type of signing that creates conflicts in teams, not to mention hes absolute garbage on the park.
Wake up parra!
Snake I'd usually agree with this sentiment, but right now I think we need every possibility to give the team a lil somtin somtin if we wanna be a chance . We ain't gonna do it with what we have . If the kids a bum then we haven't really lost out unless we throw some stoopid back ended deal at him and get stuck with him on our books .
If he comes to play and somehow finds a happy place he could put us on a magical purple patch just long enough to pull a Tigers 05 out of a hat . I agree he's a bumb who has "robbed" the Broncos of a few mil. But that's their problem . Wouldn't it be spectacular if Canbraa and Broncos line his pockets for years and we get some good footy out of the little turd for peanuts .
Id only see him as a super sub though . Like a PJ Marsh type role .
I hope yopure right wiz, im just concerned not so much for this year, but at the chance BA will sign him long term.
Hes not a comp winning player imo, he'd just hold us back
Oh gawd no . I'd only get a slight wobble in the loins if we could manage some kind of lifeline type scenario like we have with Cartwright . It'd be a good test as to where our structures at though . We've always been envious of how the storm can throw these rejects into their system and straighten them out . Throwing Milf into ours would be interesting. So far we've had a pretty good strike rate with journeymen and rejects .
