Mid year report on Tepai

Hi Guys,

Just a question re Tepai. How do we all think he is going? I thought that his attack would spark a little more than it has this year and to be honest I tend to not notice him in games that much but I am not having a shot at him.

Do you think he has just turned into more of a middle work horse? Not sure about his tackle effectiveness but he does seem to get through plenty of work.

Some people have suggested he end up a prop but I personally don't see him having the impact.

  • Stay as second row and buy props from the market
  • he should be on the edges, his defense has been lazy at times

  • Imo I would be starting with Edwards & bringing Tepai off the bench
    • Agree strongly, Edwards should start, Tepai to the bench

Tep's been ok, I know some disagree with me but he will take a couple more years till he's a hardened backrower, seems a bit soft,

saw him looking upset at few hits George Burgess put on him, difference between him and say Mau that he needs to learn is that Mau doesnt get upset, he gets even

  • I reckon he has been very good. He's a middle forward now. Big, strong and a great work rate.

I can't think of a game this year where we have lost because our pack (including the bench) didn't get the job done.

I'd leave him exactly where he is - personally I prefer Kenny E off the bench once the game has slowed/opened up a bit.

    • Totally agree. Tepai doing all the ugly work. To be fair on our pack, no team has really dominated us down the middle.
  • He's been good as has all of our forward pack.

With the exception of round 1 and the Cowboys game at Townsville we have won every single forward battle hands down and should be 8 from 10.

  • Definitely the best 20 year old forward in the competition by a long stretch.
I think a roaming lock is his best position.
  • Pack still to soft ,souths bashed us fri nite and we just copped it , tepai next prop ,to slow for lock
    • Rog in all fairness weve been bashing every other pack weve played all year, and under the circumstances im not sure its fair to be making any big assumptions like our pack is soft from 1 game.
