The positive side around signing Maguire is that he's very good around developing juniors into established first graders, and as we've seen with his grand final winning team, he brought a bunch of rookies through the system to win a gf in 2014

Then he has a bunch of no names like Dave Tyrrell, Jason Clark, Kyle Turner and then brought a retiring Lote Tuqiri and won a grand final.
That was an incredible achievement. There's no doubt he can teach developing players the game. Those 5 starting players had virtually less that 50 games between them.
He's also a good disciplinarian, which i think is what the players need right now.

Still, Maguire had to get them up to the speed of the NRL along with a bunch of rookies .

I think you mean Sam and George 2014 George was the best prop in the game and he scored that barnstorming try in the grand final!
GF come down, it was bound to happen to a club thats won its first comp in 50 odd years.
He proved he could win finals games and the big one.
Most coaches get stale at clubs too.
