Michael Jennings on a possible Mansour move...

Jennings: “He’s a close mate of mine. I was on his line for his wedding. If that’s ever a possibility to get Josh here, he’s still got a year there but there’s a bit of chatter he’s going to come here,” Jennings told foxsports.com.au.“He hasn’t really told me that’s the case. He’s keeping it all to himself. If he’s going to make a decision and we have the opportunity to take Mansour, it would be great.“It would add more experience and more class to our team.“It’s a good rumour going around.”Full article: https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/michael-jennings-hopes-josh-mansour-will-leave-penrith-for-parramatta-in-2019/news-story/5a0c72c7d5956e6a1f43833f5b5b6c61

  • If we get Mansour it need to be this year and soon sooner the better

    • I completely agree man, he could be the final piece to our 32 year old puzzle.
With Arthur saying today that he is now happy to 'retain' players over coming seasons, he feels comfortable with the group we have.
Mansour may just be the only piece left to fall in place, well we hope so...
  • Isn’t he still under contract at Penrith? They would have to release him early for him to come this year. Can you really see that happening?

    • Personally, I think Mansour would be more of a 2019 option if I was in BA's shoes. Just so we dont unsettle the awesome vibe built up ahead of a big season, possibly?

In saying that though, we did successfully chase Moses early/mid way through 2017. So if things don't quite go to plan early on, maybe that's when we explore the possible earlier arrival (2018).

We haven't touched a ball in 2018 yet so I'm not going to say something super optimistic like 'we may not even need to buy him'. I do fear that could be quite a stretch though from the likes of Auva'a or Hoffman, do hope those boys prove me wrong though. I feel confident though in saying something more realistic like 'we may be able to wait for him to arrive in 2019'.
  • If it happens, with gutho at fb, that would be one of the best ever assembled nrl backlines

    • Spot on Fiddy, agree 100%! Very exciting times for the Eels club and our men out in the middle! We are certainly overdue for another successful 'era' at our club and we will soon have all the ingredients to re-create just that, another successful era!
    • Agree: guff French Jennings Hayne Mansour Norman Moses has strike right across
  • You'd have to imagine if we pumped the Panthers and looked like Premiership contenders then Mansour would have thoughts about joining a true Premiership threat over a club going backwards fast.

    • May be the tipping point for him man, definitely food for his thoughts so to say.
  • if we get Mansour this year and when Gutherson come back Mansour be one wing French be other one our back look like this

    1 Gutherson

    2 French

    3 Hayne

    4 Jennings

    5 Mansour

    6 Norman

    7 Moses

that back line give me goose bums

"Same, Kurupt. Whatever the outcome, Jim, Beach, Ryles and the club stood united and stood their ground when they were meant to roll over for the Storm and PLV, discreetly. Moses SC has also been brilliant."
