Michael Gordons performance

The Sharks have picked up a bit later in the year.

I haven't watched many of their games. But they seem to be doing better with Gordon at fullback.

Has anyone been following Gordon's performances?

How is he going? Will he be a good addition for us next year?

  • He hasn't been that good. I would prefer giving French a shot instead of Gordon. They have looked their best when Barba comes on to add some spark to their attack.
  • Gordon will do fantastic with us, because when Toovey takes on the Assistant Coaches job with Brad Arthur we will have 2 coaches who know how Brett Stewart plays and they will obviously introduce this into the Eels playbook.

Be happy peeps - Eels on the rise (and it ain't even Saturday night)

  • I watched Mr French play a few times and he is certainly a long way off NRL IMO.  Mr Gordon will be a smart addition to our team. Knows where the tryline is, is a good midfield support player and I see him make good in roads off Junior as he develops this offload in his game.

    • Ummm Paul - I know you mean well and wish to help us through the doldrums - but mate - Offloads have been banned at the Eels since 2010.

Seffa used to try them and ended up in Wenty for ages.

    • An off-season training with the first grade team will do wonders. FWIW, French has most of the defensive aspects of fullback sorted. He's good under a bomb, covers the back field well and positions himself well. He hasn't been able to shine in attack but he's shown what he's capable of.

    • 100% agree there Paul !

French MAY be the future solution to a fullback vacancy , but he is a long way off from being NRL ready.

He needs to put a little more meat on his bones for one, but I would like to see him dominate the level he is at before we start to say that he is the "answer".

He has good patches and good games, but he is still a little bit away before he is ready for the top grade.

  • He looks alot stornger when he plays the full 80, but still last week he played 30 mins and still made 80m and a try, he also definitely still has pace, he outran morris to score (although he sarted at speed and morris had to turn). We have recruited well for next season

  • Yeah I think he will be a good addition to the team next year he has a lot of experience
  • Seffa has rarely ever offloaded the ball. He prefers to play before the line.

  • Will be a big upgrade on what we have had at fullback this year. Will also allow Norman and Robinson to play the positions they're better suited to. Will also allow us to slowly bring in French.

"Super, well said. As Captain noted he probably needed to rethink his "Offical (sic) Statement". It wasn't his best work, and he didn't run it through a spell check."
