Eels Junior joins the Bulldogs

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are pleased to announce the signing of Michael Doolan from the Parramatta Eels.

The 20-year old former Westfields Sports High School student spent last season in the Eels NYC side, where he played 21 games, scored seven tries and created 19 try assists.

Doolan, a good ball runner, spent the majority of last year in the number one position, but will play in the halves at the Bulldogs.

A former NSW U/16 schoolboy and NSW Indigenous Player of the Year, he arrives at Belmore with a great opportunity to grow as a footballer.

His move comes on the back of the Bulldogs signing lock Rod Griffin from the Tigers and prop forward Andy Saunders from the Panthers last week.

  • Don't think he was shining as a half and future not looking like much at Eels
    • Im assuming so. But wasnt he and Dargan our future halves?

Phil must have written a blog on him that I missed :)

    • I heard we decided to put our energies into Dargan as the person most likely. Can't keep them all.
  • Doubt Dolan is anywhere near there top 25
  • No real loss, Dargan and Fogarty are ahead of him.

Dogs have made some poor recruitment lately, picking up scraps from other clubs and not good signings like the Titans made last year

  • One of the best MotoGP riders the world has ever seen .
  • Dean Matterson overtook him in the pecking order in the halves. He has the ability but I suspect he lacks the drive to be a first grade player, he looked a bit overweight at times last year.

I believe the Dogs will now have 2 of our former Harold Matthews champions from 2013 in the spine with Doolan along with Tramontana.
  • No loss from what i have seen.

  • Not much of a loss. I witnessed Vave doing 50m shuttle runs and he kicked his butt. He looked slow, disinterested and overweight. Other than that.....he had a good tan
