  • RETRACTION: Upon listening to hard wired I was slightly underwhelmed. However after a few more listening I have grown to appreciate it more. I am definite that the first disc is a lot better than the second but fuck if they play spit out the bone live illlose my shit lol!!
Upon further listening a I've learnt to appreciate songs like dream no more and halo on fire... nice

Only criticism I would have is that I feel a lot of the songs seem laboured in the sense that they don't need to be as long as they are.... and don't get me wrong some of my favourites songs are disposable heros, call of the ktulu and one..

I did see an infesting article though which hetfield said one of the main arguments he and Lars had during the album is that James wanted songs to be shorter. He ended up saying that they made the song hard wired in a week and he "got his shorter song in the end". Listen to hetfield Lars!!!!! We all like a mix between heavy and thrash but some of these songs are way to bloated.

Also worth noting that Hammett lost all his riff ideas when he last his iPhone at an airport so had minimal contribution to the structure I the album. Personally I can hear his lack of involvement. Just me....
  • Sorry for the disjoint I am ona mobile and it kept stuffing up when trying to post???
  • Im getting to old and mellow to listen to Metallica these days, id prefer Barry White to be honest, i need smooth, sexual and easy listening, or up tempo feel good cock rock like Van Halen if im going to listen to rock.

    • Barry White for the bedroom Snake. Nothing like the smooth tones of the white to get the ladies knickers off.

  • Sorry Baron, but if we all put up a blog when a new album came out that we were excited about, then it would be a very dull site. There are music forums too!
    2016 Metallica? Really?
    • Grunta unfortunately for you at this point theres no fine young cannibals or chocolate starfish blog for you to participate in.

    • It's off season mate. There are going to be a few off topic blogs to keep it interesting.

and just in case you were wondering I enjoyed the new albums from the following artists:

Avalanches, Bon Iver, Birds of Tokyo, Boy and Bear, and The Flaming Lips.

Had a full run through of Johnny Cash American Recordings as well. Damn they are some good records.

    • Gotta love johnny!!
  • I enjoyed the album yet there were only a few memorable songs the rest were good without being great
  • BOOM Hamish! you know it!
