Metal detector

Does anyone own or have owned a metal detector? The reason I am asking, I have a friend who has just found a small size gold Nugget prospecting on the weekend, the nugget isn't anything that will make him a millionaire or retire on but the size to keep on prospecting around the area in hope he can unearth the mother of nuggets. He hasn't told anyone the area he found it or I know it's way out west.Have any of you found gold or know of someone who has?

  • Unearthing a nugget as we speak .
  • A fella I used to work with, his parents own a big cattle property near Clermont QLD. The property has an old gold mine on it (the pits are now full of water). He goes prospecting just as a hobby and regularly finds stuff. Just enough to keep him interested and enough to pay for the detector which wasn't cheap - a couple of grand I think he forked out for it.

    • Adam gold detectors aren't cheap from what my mate paid for his, this little hobbie of his has really changed him for the better from leaving the police force in the ciu, I guess it's his way of escaping his nightmares. I am prepared to go on a prospecting hunt with him as well as roo shoot. Organising a trip mid year, wouldn't it be great to unearth your retirement.
  • You used to see old blokes down the beaches here in the 80s and 90s scouring around all the time . Haven't seen one in years . Since the introduction of the internet they're probably all at home looking at child exploitation material nowadays .
  • Bwhahahha fong, Grunta would also be looking for new species of weeds.
  • Its a great hobby, i know a guy who lives on Bondi beach who rents himself out to people who have lost rings, hes found some freaking amazing stuff and made some good money with some big tips.
Ive thought about getting one myself for a bit of fun
