Men vs boys

All year the oppositions were faster, stronger and smarter. We simply can’t tackle, don’t know how to number up, no leadership, no direction. Can I ask what they hell are we practicing at training and what are we doing in the gym?! Do we have a defensive coach? Have we got an attacking coach or consultant to develop our halves and attaching options? Have we got a fitness coach to build strength, speed and endurance? This is a disaster of a football team.

  • We looked unfit from the 1st game & never improved all season. Teams definitely fitter than us.
More questions BA needs to answer - oh but wait, cuz he didn’t have a football manager he can’t be held accountable for anything right?!!!
    • It was the heat mate. Always an excuse!
  • You’re spot on. Every other team looked fitter, faster, bigger and more physical.
The loss of our wrestling coach adds to the defensive issues.
The loss of Ronny Palmer as head trainer adds to the strength and conditioning issues.
The loss of peter gentle as assistant coach adds to the defensive and attacking issues.
    • BA needs to be sacked. Pay out his $500k and go get Macguire or someone who is known for flogging the team and demands nothing short of 100% effort.
  • I think Parramatta is the only team who has a captain who starts on the bench. That is another problem. The team this year was mentally weak. In 4-5 games this year we lead the opposition with less than 10 mins to go and lost all of them. That's 8-10 points right there.
  • Things are not going to improve unless a major clean out of playing personnel is put in place.
Mannah, Jennings, Mau, Takarangi, King, Pritchard, Moerea, Moses T/Rex. are all non performers and need shifting on.
Most of these are taking to much of the cap, and not performing to NRL level. Getting replacements will be difficult as few good players actually go on the open market.
They are usually snapped up by Roosters before their contracts are finished.

"Reserve graders or not, it doesn't really excuse the work rate for 50 minutes. Plenty of those reserve graders were playing for a contract."

"Big motor for a big bloke. It's the same with Tuivaiti, they both seem to keep coming with the ability to play big minutes. They'd both have to be 115kg plus. Not sure who the conditioning coach is but he's doing a good job on these young blokes."

"Assuming he is coming back from injury the reason to play him in reserves is to build up his match fitness. Will get to play longer minutes in that match."
