LOL I was 13 years old then and cheering my wee heart out when Parra won. I seriously could not believe it...the next year, 82, 14 years old, I ended up at the GF at the SCG...know what? None of my mates at school believed me...one f**king kid tried to steal my cap which I brought back plus a Big league that had Cronin's autograph (lost now). I had a fight with that kid and almost got kicked out of school as the kid said that I stole it from him and the f**king headmaster almost believed him until I prove it that the cap and mag belong to me. Know what? The kid's mum came to school the next day and demanded that I get suspended for hitting her little Matthew. Fat lump of shit he was. Saw him at the school reunion three years back and he's now a ring puncher...anyway, mummsy demanded that I get suspended but the headmaster (who was an eels fan) refused. I beat Matthew up that afternoon for dobbing me in
I was at that game TS. I think it was against the Tigers. Field goals were not such a big go in those days. Big Dick kicked it on a poorly prepared field and it never looked like missing. i think we won that game on the back of that amazing field goal. Great memories.
