I've read a number of comments in the last week from people who are frustrated that hardly anyone is giving Parra a chance this year, despite the impressive team we now have.I liked what Wayne Bennet had to say on Fox last night. The reporter mentioned that the Broncos are favourites to win the comp this year. Wayne scoffed and said that at the moment it's just words and speculation. It means nothing to him or his team.It would be nice to see us featuring in people's finals calculations but what the 'experts' predict means nothing. It has no bearing on our season other than taking the pressure off (if that's worth anything).In 2010 Parra were favourites to win the competition after an amazing end to 2009. We all know how that ended up. In 2016 we're tipped to miss out on the finals once again.If you talk to Phil, I reckon his advice right now would be to enjoy the underdog tag and the juicy odds that come with that.Bring on the footy and what all of us here are hoping will be a season that shows the 'experts' had no idea what they were talking about.

I don't mind Bennett, he always seem to give Parra a decent wrap and what he said about Normy being the danger man, him and Foran so yeah Bennett isn't bad for a Queerslander

  He's taking the pressure off his team. They're massive favourites today and many have tipped them to win well. Last year in round 1 they got towelled up by Souths. So I'd say he's just trying to reverse the pressure a bit

They are not favorites in my book. I seriously don't know how you can have a favourite this early out when there are so many fantastic teams. Christ, for all we know Cronulla could win the minor premiership and have no injuries heading into the finals. But yeah, Bennet has always spoken well of Parra.

I shouldn't laugh but I found it really funny when Thurston tore Parra apart that night and asked if Hindy was part of "that coaching staff" lol

  so were we with Hayne and with Hayne out, it was like a donkey entering the Kentucky Derby. Hope we're not a one man band with Foran...we should really be a three man band with Jenno, Foz, and Scotty
