The Broncos have plenty of talent, but it's just an unbalanced roster. The problem is that teams like the Dogs, Dragons, Titans & Tigers try to buy their way out of trouble.
There's plenty of untapped talent out there, plenty for expansion, but the bottom 5 or 6 clubs have got to get their act together, because they are letting the rest of the game down at the moment.
They haven't got it in the key spots that's thee issue.
Brisbane and the rest of those mentioned teams problems is roster management. They tie themselves into stupid contracts that cull the ability to build a roster with adequate depth.
Theres been a halves issue in the development area for years so how are these new expansion franchises supposed to fix or compete when there is very little in the halves and hooker stakes.
For me thee only thing expansion leads to isn't necessarily a better competition but it allows the NRL to get more in there future TV Deals as they have more product to sell.
Coryn / Scott, you're both right and you're both wrong. There is heaps of natural athletic football talent in the Broncos, BUT, the roster is horribly unbalanced and they are a long way from being a genuine top 8 team. They need to view their growth in terms of addition by subtraction. They need to let Milford, Lodge, Isaako, Croft & Carrigan walk. Hand the keys over to Tom Deardon and let the team grow with him. Move Xavier Coates to fullback,
I'd be getting rid of TPJ straight up. He came on the other night when the Broncos were trying to come off their own line under intense pressure from the Storm. He just handed it off twice in the same set to an outside back who got absolutely pulverised. That sort of shit should not be tolerated.

That is true, and ordinarily I would agree with you, but when a team is struggling they need to start with their offence. If a team can still score points, then at least it keeps them in the game, and honestly, having watched the Broncos so far, pretty much all their best stuff has come off the back of TPJ. Watching the Bulldogs is brutal, because you know as soon as they get behind by 10-12 points it's game over because they simply can't score. They know they can't win because they can't score, so what's the motivation to defend when at best they can lose by a small margin ?
At least TPJ gives them an avenue to score points.

That sort of attitude is contagious though, and when it’s infected your senior playing group (you can add Norman from years gone by, Boyd from last year and Milford still remains) you’ve got massive problems which are not going to get solved by a bit of attacking flair.
I can cop a player that may not possess all the skills but still works hard. What I can’t cop is a show pony bludger with a shithouse attitude.
"😂😂😂
That's exactly what will happen, hit the iceberg and Sarantinos will be floating on a door with BA till the very very last minute..
No room for MON or any STAR PLAYERS obviously."
"Yep as long as the leader (coach) is protected at all costs, not all is lost.
There's still time to rebuild and grow another army of collision chasers and front loaders..."

i think the bootom 4 will be,
16th Manly
15th, Dogs
14th, Cowboys
13th, Broncos
Love it
After these 3 games, I'm thinking not enough elite talent to support any expansion without diluting the product

Agree Brett, there is plenty of talent there at the Broncos, is it an attitude thing?
Cameron Smith would have turned them into a force if he went there, an old head that can lead them in a grind and through tough periods.

No, this is where your wrong Coryn.
Just because Brisbane are down the bottom it doesn't mean there is no ability there.
Brisbane aren't far off being a very good side.
One or two experienced additions to that team could turn them right around.
Thanks again,
Scott

I think their best team going forward is
1) Coates
2) Oates
3) Farnworth
4) Niu
5) ???
6) Staggs
7) Deardon
8) Haas
9) Turpin
10) Flegler
11) Glenn (c)
12) Riki
13) TPJ
