MCG pitch.

It is an embarrassment that the worlds richest football team, ( Real Madrid ) has had to play on such a mediocre surface in Australia.I wouldn't expect the Eels to play on this ground, let alone the richest club of any sporting code in the world.Lets see- AFL played by two countries.Football - Played by majority of countries in the world.Well done, nice showpiece Melbourne.

  • Haha Matt, you need to understand that local people here in Melbourne (yes, I live here) have absolutely no idea that there is any other sports outside AFL or Cricket. Melbournians will proudly beat their chests about a self proclaimed "sporting capital of the world" but the reality is that they have no idea. To prepare a venue outside their tunnel vision on sport is completely outside their comprehension. Far and away the most parochial sporting fans on the planet.
    • Gday Phil.

I will bet that Cricket Australia & the AFL would not dare showpiece one of their events on a ground such as this.

    • My apologies, but if any other venue showcased a ground such as this they would get the same message.

    • Better check again dude, it was on the news this week & they, apparently do their homework.
    • Who gives a fark!
  • Real Madrid!!! Ah, France!! Nice place.
  • Why is this in Parra blogs?
  • Madrid are the biggest sporting team in the world...FACT! And yes it's embarrassing they play on a pitch like that .
  • 1st world problems
  • I was at the game last night and fuck it was terrible. No pre-game entertainment, they blocked off the main entrance for Madird and Roma to go into the stadium for a good 20-25 minutes when they couldve blocked off the ones not connecting the footpaths from the city, the players obviously werent putting any effort (except for Gervinho of Roma) because they were probably worried about injuring themselves on that fucking cow paddock and the tickets were wayyy overpriced. They didnt even have any hype-up video and that was the catalyst for the quiet ass crowd.. The most exciting thing of the night was people throwing paper planes from the top level onto the field ffs.
