I wouldn't move Matto to an edge as he is so important for our bench rotation. Hopgood is Ray Price reincarnated and deserves his spot full-time and for the next decade hahaha. But Matto on the edge is now over i believe and feel we can get by with Doorey or Mataele or Cartwright on the right edge and have Matto off the bench.

  • Unlike Coryn, this guy gets it.

"But where the positives flow in those areas for the Eels, there are major questions around their abilities at dummy half.

Reed Mahoney's departure was always going to be a hard one to replace this year, and while Josh Hodgson brings plenty of experience, his service against the Storm was poor."

    • Hodgson was a very noticeable improvement on Mahoney last night. Only a true flop journo would say otherwise. These hacks need to talk up the angle that Canterbury snagged a big fish and we are left with some 3rd rate fill in.  They've been talking up how we lost this big marquee player for 12 months , they'd look a bit silly if they then admitted Hodgsons a better player.

  • The game was lost by some key poor decisions by some individuals .  Our spine was very very average but I was rapt with the footy brains of Hodgson and the raw ability of hopgood.

Brown was very ordinary .  Moses not much better .

  • Nothing to stress about its only rd 1 and not even our full strength side. Still have Matto, Lane and Russell to come in. We'll be very hard to bet when they come back.

    My 17 would be:

    1. Gutherson

    2. Sivo

    3. Blake

    4. Penisini

    5. Russell

    6. Brown

    7. Moses

    8. RCG

    9. Hodgson

    10. Paulo

    11. Lane

    12. Doorey

    13. Hopgood

    14. Cartwright

    15. Matterson

    16. Murchie

    17. Greig

That side is well and truly a very capable chance of being a premiership team

    • I would even look at Asi on the bench somewhere.

  • If matterson was serious about wanting to win he would of paid the fine. Disgusting what he has done and should be moved on.

    • Matterson isn't a team player Gordon.  He'll be a big reason why we'll miss the 8 guaranteed
