If that’s right Wong, find it hard to believe broncos would bow out gracefully...just hope we aren’t buying into the loan thing in some way for this idjiot!
If the horses have any interest in the money that is owed to them, be it any outsanding amount, then they would expect to get it back if he wants out. If Lodge has covered the debt himself by some means, then if he is to leave the horses, and they are ok with that, then that's a nothing issue.
After watching around 50 minutes of the Wests/Canberra match, its no wonder that Wests are after who they can snap up. Its interesting that those two clubs have coaches, that were basically sacked from their previous clubs and neither of those two clubs with these coaches are setting the world on fire, and both wanting to shed players big time, maybe the swapping of coaches and players is like playing cards, name your own game of snap.
I would think that Lodge has or should have grown up a bit since his U.S incident, and has tried to get his life back in order, so he could be a good fit for the eels, having players such as those past ones who have been in strif and each trying to get their lifes back on track. So far each of our players have kept their noses clean and getting their lifes in order, and that includes Jnr, Ma'u, previous players such as norms, not sure how Kenny two heads is going though.
RL has been an area where many past players have got their lifes turned around, and if he was to come here, I feel pretty confident that he too would get the support he needed, but likely there would be clauses in his contract regarding that. Thing is he still is under contract until end of next year and then has a two year option in his favour, and if the horses were willing to let him go may well depend on how much they are expected to pick up in his contract. It may also depend on whether they want one of our players, with the likely target being Mahoney who is a Queenslander, & that's something I would not like to see unless we have someone to replace him and as good as him.
Colin my understanding is that his father who is a cop went to the US and negotiated a compromise deal which Lodge has been honouring for some time now.
I do not know if the victims have been paid all the money owed in the newly negotiated deal.
Thanks John, I have to admit to not knowing a great deal about the case, although I did some reads on the net regarding the incident. Certainly if he comes here there needs to be some critical clauses regarding behaviour I would think.
From the games I have seen him play, they have not bee too bad and does not shirk his role either and he does provide some size and weigh to the front row. I went over his stats on the zero tackle site and again not bad, some missed tackle counts though, plays good minutes and has pretty good run metres as well.
"Yeah, Coryn. I lean towards the minority here: Snottie's reasoned big-picture objectivity and moving on from victim-pity-parties and therapeutic poo-throwing. There are some positive changes I see in the club in the new Ryles era and an alignment up…"

Didn’t he already sign with the broncos lol they have his balls in a grip
Check The Australian newspaper report headed:
Brisbane Broncos debt is paid says Matt Lodge with eye on future
And that's pretty simple maths, a five-year-old could figure that shit

Will believe it when and if it happens.
Like you I will believe it when I see it. He does a lot in defence, plays big minutes, has some aggression and a big motor
