Matt Lodge- Curtis Scott

I said after Round 4 that we had a Top 8 squad assembled although was expecting a 11th-12th spot finish before round 1.

I've felt that we are a centre and a prop short in assembling a Top 4 squad.

Scott has been told to find another club, Lodge is miserable at the Broncos.

I feel we should go after both. One a rep player in Scott and the 2nd someone who'd lost his way but has since found it putting behind the NY drama.

I think it's also in our favour they are both NSWmen.

  • Matt lodge is Alot better option than Burgess. I wouldn't mind both of them at Parra as long we don't throw to much money around.

    • Agreed. George Burgess is another plodder just like Alvaro. His runs carry no punch. Lodge is also younger by 3 years and ever improving. GB has reached his full potential already which isn't at all special. He's no more than a cover player.

  • Lodge may be a contraversal signing for Parra. It was Ok for Brisbane to sign him but if we sign him there'll be regular articles about him and his past behaviour in the media.

    • Manu Mau, Russell Packer were both bad boys but are on the straight and narrow. Rugby League saved them.

From the moment Lodge has settled with the NY family, there's not reason why it should be continued.

        • Who knows..his family may have put their house as collateral to secure the loan.

Anyway..what do we care why the bank processed his loan. It's their matter.

If he wants to return to Sydney then we should do all we cant to entice him to come to Parra.

          • Nope.

    • True. But it will disappear pretty quick.

      I'd rather him.

We desperately need two top tier centres. Taka is a plodding bum, if we keep Jennings it would be on a greatly reduced contract say $500k max for 2 years max.

  • Lodge yes

Scott no. He is on the outer for discipline issues and we don't need that.  Resign Jennings on less money and train Salmon at centre

    • I don't know for what ill disclipined reasons he's out but he's only 21 and is good enough enough to be a rep centre. He may be bit of a DH but I'm sure we can fix that with a clause in his contract.

I like Jenko but he's 31 and no longer the player he once was.

We need to be cut throat and look at the future. I'm not saying get rid of Jenko after this year but you need to look at who should be your centres next year and Scott and Salmon wouldn't be a bad fit at all with one being more creative and the other one a finisher.

    • He's not out for discipline reasons, he's out because both he and Bellamy are too inrense to be in each others company. They butt heads. Nothing more.
