Fox sports are reporting Matt Burton’s future at the Bulldogs looks increasingly uncertain after Trent Barrett’s departure from the club.
Burton has a player option in his favour for the final year of his deal in 2024 and is free to negotiate with rivals as of November 1 and he has stated that he intends to test the market.
The Daily Telegraph’s Dave Riccio believes Barrett’s exit could be disastrous in their bid to re-sign Burton, who is on a reported $500k, long-term.
I couldn't copy the link but the Dogs can have Mahoney if we can get this kid!!

Nut!
Id take him in a heartbeat, I think if he goes anywhere itll be back to the Riff. If that happens though, lets snap up Tago.
Out of all the Panthers boys I think this guy would come cheapest and I really like him. Seems so calm. He can play back row too.
Crichton and his brother feel too 'Panthery' for my liking as does young May.
If we could get him for 500k then hell yes.
A centre pairing of Burton and Penisini would be outstanding.
This would be a good backline.
1. Guth
2. Sivo/Russell/Dunster
3. Penisini
4. Burton
5. Blake
I just hit 3rd gear looking at this BEM...
Love to sign him, but whats betting he ends up back at the Panthers.
I don't think 500k for 3 years is a bad deal especially for a player of his ability and potential.
Burton in the centre and back up for Dylan and/or Moses due to injury/suspension is a good price and adds that extra attacking element we desperately need
It would also be nice to take him from the dogs after the Reed fiasco
But we still haven't learned anything from the bloody Sutcliffe debacle.
I still haven't forgiven them for 1984
It would be great if we could get him but we'll more likely go for players no other club are interested in, as usual
I agree Slugg
We need to be like the Roosters where every player off contract is linked to the Eels
We need a Politis
