Mateo "loves the place"

FELETI MATEO has declared he will not allow the constant speculation about his playing future at Parramatta to ''kill'' his career as it did his former Eels teammate Tim Smith.Mateo insisted he was fully committed to the Eels through 2010 and beyond despite being linked to a shock defection to the Bulldogs. He also took the opportunity to add weight to the Bulldogs' denial they'd even met.''There's been talk about me leaving and going elsewhere, but I'm not,'' he said. ''At the moment I can't go anywhere because I'm contracted and even if I wasn't, I don't want to go anywhere. I've dealt with speculation like this before, and I've seen other boys like Timmy Smith cop the same sort of stuff and it pretty much killed his career in the NRL. I'm not going to let that happen to me. I love the place, I love the people. I've got my family here and all my friends, so I can't see myself leaving the Eels any time soon.FULL STORY HERE
