Match Review Comittee - 2 week for Marata

Niukore was charged with a Grade 1 Crusher Tackle for a tackle on Storm forward Tino Faasuamaleaui in the 27th minute of the clash.

The charge carries a base penalty of 200 points  (a two week suspension), but with 1 similar offence in the last two years (50% loading), Niukore has an additional 45 points to be carried over.

An early guilty plea will see Niukore miss two weeks of the competition whilst if found guilty at the judiciary, Niukore will serve a three week suspension.

The Eels have until midday Monday 5 October to respond to the charge.

Storm hooker Cameron Smith was also charged with a Grade One Dangerous Throw on Dylan Brown in the 48th minute of the clash. He will avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.

  • I find it so bullshit that Smith did not get suspended. He was the only tackler and Dylan wasn't fighting in the tackle so that means Smith should of had full control of the tackle. That was very lazy from Smith and deserved a suspension. Fucking protected player.

  • I do believe Marata suspension was warranted. The crusher was accidentat but in order for the Match Review Comitee to be consistent Marata needed to miss the two games. On the other hand, Smith's decision is completely bias

    • I do believe you are WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Watch the way Nuikore DELIBERATELY drops his entire body weight on the player - two games, two crushers.

If I was on the judiciary Marata would be out till round 3 *NEXT YEAR*sigh* or 6 games whichever is the harshest penalty.

He has developed a very bad technique that must be eradicated from the game.

If these tackles continue without serious consequences for the instigators then it won't be long before we see another McKinnon type injury.

This idea of holding the player off the ground then deliberately dropping your entire weight on him has got to stop - it is not only for crusher tackles but for ALL tackles.

Smith is a grub, but the upside is I sincerely hope he decides to play on *NEXT YEAR*sigh* because both Grant and Brandon Smith have threatened to leave if he does - up yours you egotistical bum wipe Smith.

      • Are you high on your mushrooms. 6 games suspension is for brutal and intentional crushers and Marata fit under neither of those categories.

      • I agree the crusher is a blight on the game and in some cases it's accidental or unavoidable in Marata case he had the opportunity to release he didn't and as such deserves the charge

        • Yea I am saying he deserves the charge but Col saying 6 weeks is ludicrous.

  • The MRC did not charge Storm players for crusher tackles in the previous game against us and Marathas looked accidental and he quickly rectified it and allowed the head to pass under him

    • Mate. Its the Storm. Did you expect anything more. In the start of the game Gutho was on the floor at Ado Car comes with a swinging arm at his head but everyone was blind to it. With Kenny Bromwhich no try, Munster smacks Mahoney late for no reason but everything was fine. Storm are nothing more than cheats and Roosters are just salary cap cheaters. While Bellamy is the best coach I have ever seen, he manipulates all the rules like a grub. Robbinson would be no where without a star studded roster. This is why I hope that either Raiders or Panthers win if eels cannot.

      • Bellamy reminds me of one of those English gangsters  with a pig farm
