This article was released the day before the NRL GF, but Marty was very keen to wear blue and gold, still seems so now. Salary cap still not set and that is the hold up but i think there is a chance we still go ahead with Taupau for perhaps 2 year deal. Souths are another club interested in his services to replace Mark Nicholls.
He is exactly what we need and honestly a very important signing. Going for Lodge, Klemmer and Taupau before August 1st shows that BA knows there is a massive need for a bench middle forward. We cannot rely on what we have. Having a Taupau and say Ogden i think will be a nice bench.

Yeah, I'd like to see him at our club. Beyond his talent and strength, we haven't had anyone with plaits in a very long time.
True. We need more Platts
Didnt Lew Platz play for Parra? And or Penrith? Yep indeed he did. But yes to Marty as long as contract is in our favour.
There is an oval named after Lew in his home town in Qld. A bit like a few QLD players in that can't do it week to week at club level but rise to the occasion in SOO. I have pitched a tent on Lew's oval. (I mean that in a masculine way - during a bike riding event)_
With des being shown the door could be a few players up for grabs
I don't think I would want many of the Manly players.
No only a few
He has always been one of my favourite players and was pissed off when he signed for Manly.
I am usually against signing players in their 30's.
He will be 33 when Round 1 hits. Though he is still playing a decent level, bench spot might suit him and is reletively playing injury free *touch wood* but yeah i agree with your sediments in that signing played well into their 30's is a cause for concern.
That's why i favoured Klemmer, or even Lodge back when after him. Though Taupau will be still be better than what we currently have behind RCG and Paulo.
