Martin Taupau- 1 week suspension.

If you saw the swinging arm that floored Jack Bird (taken from the field and didn't return) you know how much of a joke the match review committee is. Unbelievable. Bird didn't even have the ball when he copped the late hit.

If a blatant swinging arm collecting someone flush on the jaw is only worth 1 week, I would hate to think what you need to do to get 2 weeks....

Maybe touch the referee twice?

  • In my opinion this is the worst ruling by the judiciary I have ever seen.

    • He should've been sent. BS ruling.
  • Well he is a Bulldogs junior (or at least played there before moving to the Tigers )
    • that definately explains it. ANY connection to the bulldogs and u get away with murder!

  • 1 match!! Seriously! Sack the lot of them.
  • So ridiculous. We lose one of our best players for the rest of the game and the only thing we get in return is a penalty.

The Roosters benefit from the one week suspension. I think he should've been sin binned at the very least, considering Feki was sin binned for a professional foul the week before for laying on the player too long. When he didn't get sin binned I thought at the very least he will get a reasonable punishment by the judiciary. How silly of me.
    • Exactly how i see it. The wrong team ends up getting penalised for foul play.

Taupau should have been RED CARDED, off for the game and substituted, but can't take no furthur part in the game. The ruling is weak in this area, yet a shoulder charge cops you a ban for at least 1 game.

    • History has a way of repeating itself Wiz.....Just like lamb smashing ellery Hanley in the Tigers dogs grand final!!! Hanley gone for the match, dogs win and nothing said after the match!!!
I know payback was a bitch when meninga did it to lamb a couple of years later again nothing happened but a team is disadvantaged!!
In regards to Monday night manly should have played the rest of the game with 12 players!!! That was not a sin bin offence it was a send off offence!!! It was reckless pure and simple! Clenched fist blatant swinging arm, hit to the head, player knocked out!! Great example set by the league!!!
Greenturd comes out with these outlandish statements trying to make the game attractive for kids to play and parents to encourage their kids to play!! Yet the likes of Taupau gets one week for that. If he did it in the street, he has the potential under one punch laws to be in prison for a very long time!!! If someone is struck in just the right place they can die!!! This hit was disturbing on so many levels but the league wash their hands of it!!!! A fekking joke!!! I for one think the Sharks were harshly penalised on Monday night with one of their players taken off for the remainder of the game and this grub stays in the field and again on Tuesday with the match review committee!!!
  • The system is lame. The maximum (grade5) you can get for a careless high tackle is 2 matches. If anything it should be been under reckless tackle category where grade one is 3 matches. It's a stooooopid flawed system.
    Fix it up greenturd.
  • Could not believe that.seriously is the only thing u get sin binned for now is throwing a punch .
U have a guy looking for a lost ball hit late and flush to the jaw and u get on report and they looae there player

"Exactly, why let him sit on the sideline or in Union, we get nothing out of it. At least get something in return. Not just anything but something pretty good."
