Marmin Goes to the Gold Coast

Parramatta Eels junior and brother of NRL star Ben Barba, Marmin Barba today announced that he has signed with the Gold Coast Titans for the next two seasons.

Barba had big wraps on him at Parramatta having trained with the first grade squad in the 2011/12.

Barba will add depth to the Titans' squad with his ability to play at fullback as well as in the halves. He was tipped by some to play NRL during the 2012 season but was injured all season.

It is being reported that Barba has moved back to Queensland after becoming homesick. The Titans have needed a young, talented half with Scott Prince moving to Brisbane next season.

  • Too injury prone in my view, He should have hit First Grade last year if it wasnt for injuries, Plus can only guess the club sold him because he wanted to be closer to family

  • Thanks Ron, will update the blog.

  • Every one thinks this kid is going to be the next star. If he was that good he would be in first grade by now. Let him go
    • He was supposed to play first grade this season but was injured. He was training with First Grade last off-season as well as this off-season.

  • didn't his knee op not go right?

    thats what i heard anyway.

  • I believe he won't be ready to play until 2014.... This kid won't play first grade!
  • Its all 3p's fault !!
  • As Jay-Z would say. On to the next one !!
  • In a way, a part of me is disappointed with all this, given that when I first saw Barba play in our NYC side, I had a feeling that he would play first-grade.

Having said that, there were a lot of circumstances preventing him from doing so - not to mention his want to move back home, evidenced by this move.
And, if some rumours/reports are true, then it may yet be some time before we see Barba on the field for any side.

I think despite this, however, the club is well-covered at fullback.

  • LMAO - if you want to get out of your NRL club contract - go cry in the corner telling everyone you are homesick.

    What a load of CRAP.

Barba's "family" live 1100 Kms NORTH of the Gold Coast

The greater part of his "family" live even further away.

If he was fair dinkum then he would have gone to the Mackay Cutters - a Cowboys feeder team.

"If you don't want to be here - then P*** ORF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Pansies are in bloom in the NRL.

"Well that's the risk we might have to take Wiz. It's all about cheap bargains mate and you won't find those paying market or above for said players."
