  • Everyone has pretty much heard. Burt is probably the least likely to be in the backline next season, unless Grothe goes to Japan rugby.
  • I seriously can't see Burty leaving the club he's played at his entire career just as times are about to get good. I think the club wouldn't stand in his way if he got a massive offer and wanted to leave but I just don't think its going to happen
    • Definitely been told to look at super league they want to offload him for cap reasons. Its a shame i would rather Grothe go.
  • He will be in the 14 Playing a utility role.
    • yeah but grothes strengths make up for that. he helps us out with hit-ups and scores plenty of tries.

i think inu has been the weakest link, just because of his inconsistancey .

maybe though grothe could be used on the bench in a b.smith type role?
  • On his current form and his combination with Hayne he should be in the run on side next year.
  • I do not understand your thinking...Tell me why and explain to me WHY Burt is probably the least likely to be in the backline?
    • Because he is getting old. Don't get me wrong, I love Burt, have loved him since I started watching.

      But with a backline of:

      1. Hayne
      2. Inu
      3. Tahu
      4. Reddy
      5. Grothe

I can't see where he would come in. Grothe provides so, so much inside our own 20 with hitups, always bending back the defence and then getting away quick play the balls. His defence can be a worry but honestly, over the past 8 weeks, he has had one bad match in defence, and taht was against the tigers who fucked up Reddy bad. The Grothe + Reddy partnership is going great, can't see them breaking it up.
      • What you're saying makes sense. It's a shame though, as when Burty's on his game he's as good as anyone. His performance last night was phenomenal.
      • I agree 100% with this but if there is an injury which they most likely will be Burty will be right in there.
