Manu Maui

Seems like to me the past 18 months he has been well below what his first contract was like. Anyone else thinking he’s got his pay day? I think this year We have the depth so Arthur has to make some tough decisions.

  • Yeah Ma'u was pretty poor yesterday. It's either him or Scott that needs to be dropped for Edwards.

  • Maybe. He missed two tackles against the Riff but both were not entirely his fault (King missing his inside assignment and another when we were down to 12 and numbers were against him). BA does have him play the 80 mins and every team needs some workhorses.

Jury still out but one would think he is doing OK at 80 mins and doing what BA wants?

  • I think he’s a smidge overrated by eels fans. He was a bit of a novelty at first, ex jailbird with the thousand yard stare. His footy has been pretty good but he’s a bit one dimensional at times and physically he is a little small. I said ages ago we need to look elsewhere for our edge forward weapon.
  • Manu has definitely struggled the last 18 mths. He still shows glimpses off what he can do but seems to have lost his aggressive streak he had.
  • Maybe a touch out of form to start the year. One of my favourites though. Up there with Alvaro, Terepo and Edwards.
  • Ma'u has been a great player for the eels but his best days are well behind him.

  • In all honesty, he needs a change of club. Otherwise he will fade away in wenty soon
  • Next weeks team should be.

    French
    Avua,a
    Jennings
    Hayne
    Hoffman
    Noman
    Moses
    Alvaro
    King
    Mannah
    Mau
    Meroa
    Brown

    Smith.
    Edwards
    Matagi
    Teripo

King had trouble playing fo 80, smith can give him a break and give us x factor.
Scott is done IMO and Teripo comes in for Evans. Edwards replaces scott. We also need Edwards D back on the right edge.

    Out. Scott, Takerangi,Evans
    In. Smith, Edwards, Teripo.
  • Mau gets way too much love on here. It seems the way he looks causes people to rate him. Don't doubt his effort (or his mean face) but his game is lacking impact. He also pushes passes that are never on (and at the worst time too).

Honestly if he was named in an opposition lineup would anybody see him as much of a threat? I'd be quite comfy waiting for him to spill one just when we need him to.

"Same, Kurupt. Whatever the outcome, Jim, Beach, Ryles and the club stood united and stood their ground when they were meant to roll over for the Storm and PLV, discreetly. Moses SC has also been brilliant."
