Manu Ma'u: The Tongan Terminator (NRL.com)

Parramatta forward Manu Ma'u has a new nickname and it's all thanks to the torment he went through during the Eels' painful 2018 season.

Ma'u went low in a tackle on Samoan international James Gavet during the Pacific Test match in June and copped an accidental knee to the face, instantly bringing his season to an end.

Common cheekbone fractures can see a player return to the paddock within a month but the 30-year-old joined Panthers winger Josh Mansour in 2018 with a worst-case scenario and missed the final nine rounds of the regular season.

  • I hope he live up to it next year

  • I really liked what i saw from Shaun Lane this year and have high hopes for him - I reckon he has the potential to be great for us - especially if the front row are getting us on the front foot.

If Lane produces Mau will be one of the blokes under pressure - hopefully he will rise to the challenge..

    • is Shaun lane the new Kane Evans. I hope not

Coryn Hughes replied to LB's discussion Parramatta interested in signing Davvy Moale
"Keon won't be I think Moale is just surplus to requirements I'd take him stack him into a rotation and if he doesn't work out move him.We need middle depth Paulo is coming to the end I'd have him on a rental and not offer silly coin either."

"I agree, yet people were (and still are) calling for the entire organisation to be knocked down and rebuilt. Nonsense, we've made the one change that was necessary."
