Manly sign Blake Green on two-year deal

Manly Sea Eagles are pleased to announce the signing of Melbourne Storm five-eighth Blake Green for the next two years.

A quality ball-player, Green has played 91 first grade matches and brings plenty of experience and a strong kicking game to Manly, having enjoyed successful stints in the NRL and the English Super League.

Green won the Harry Sunderland Trophy as man-of-the-match playing for Wigan in the 2013 Super League Grand Final.

Sea Eagles Coach Trent Barrett said the signing of Green was an important one for the Club following the retirement of Jamie Lyon.

“Blake gives us what we need. He will be a really good foil for Daly Cherry-Evans. He will take a lot of pressure off Daly, especially with his kicking game on the left edge,’’ Barrett said.

“He has been in a good system at Melbourne under Craig Bellamy. Blake is a really great signing for us.”

    • I agree, bake and cheery good together, just like peaches & cream
    • Old hayson doesn't follow the Eagles anymore, thing they will be bottom 4/spooners.
  • He's a plodder
  • Blake is a nuffie regardless who coaches him! Cameron smith and cooper Cronk made him look good!!!
  • I agree, he will be significantly better then Walker in the halves.  If Brett Stewart and Matai make successful returns from injury next year with the new signings (and rumoured signings) they will be a lot better squad.

"Well Ryles was adament, even after Smith debuted that he wanted a 2nd Hooker. Tried to get Brailey for a while.
He must see Smith as something else. But i do not see him signing Da Silva on decent coin and for so many years just to be a 14 or…"
