MANLY have made star Parramatta fullback Clinton Gutherson their number one target for next season.
A Sea Eagles junior, Gutherson has been a shining light for the Eels over the past couple of years but is off contract in a few months and has yet to re-sign with the club.
The 24-year-old utility back began his top grade career at Manly in 2013 before switching to the Eels in 2016.
He has shone at fullback for Parramatta and while Manly has a world class fullback in Tom Trbojevic, Gutherson can also play centre, wing and five-eighth.
The utility back is a big fan of Eels coach Brad Arthur and may wait until the club decides his fate before signing on at either club for 2020.
But Gutherson’s family all live at Manly and he retains strong ties to the Sea Eagles district.

These dickheads just got pinned for salary cap breahes, I wouldn't worry too much
Gutho and Turbo are both fullbacks. Choose one.
i really don’t think it is in either players best interest not to be fullback.
Turbo to centre. His body doesn’t seem to cope with all the running at fb
At first blush that seems like a ridiculous thing to say, but it really has to be a valid consideration.
There is a history of injuries coming out of that ground
I knew this was on the cards but Gutherson waiting to we resign Brad Arthur manly all so waiting if we let him go and if we do they will sign ba as a assistant coach and get Gutherson to
I watched the replay and realised it wasn't as bad it looked at first. He slowed down a lot to kick the ball again and Xerri didn't slow at all
I think he's lost a little pace since he did his knee for a 2nd time. I remember him much quicker when he first started playing for us. He still has explosive pace as shown from his dummy half runs but gets run down over the strech.
This should come with a Mole warning.
Manly are after a centre
Only wat they could compete $ when we are offering fullback is if they had a big 3rd party deal
