Aside from the 40/20 he had a very very quiet game. Played 80 mins made 25 tackles, 2 runs and a 40/20. To put that in perspective, his opposite Erin Clark played 56 mins, made 31 tackles and scored a try. Benefit of the doubt in that he didn't have a full off season and is probably struggling for fitness but those stats are unacceptable from your hooker-particularly for 80 minutes

In fairness titans played an expensive game so the little Weed didn't have to much work to do.
His service out of dummy half was still top shelf
I hate can't stand the little feck because we will miss him and as the season goes on it will become more apparent
And missed 5 tackles. That is a stat that means you cannot get points in mom. In need of the gallop. Watch for improvement.
I really don't get what your saying? Because he didn't make 40 tackles, he had a quiet game? We don't want Reed making 40+ tackles every week, the big boys around him need to be making those tackles. His service was exceptional, his short passing was a constant threat and his kicking game was enormous. We need to just enjoy the fact that we've got one of the best dummy halves in the business for another year, on cheap money. That's how you win Premierships
Well said, he did exactly what we want him doing and did it incredibly well.
Hey TKBK - maybe I'm old school but I believe your hooker should be setting your line speed in defence which in most cases means they'll make the most tackles. Having our bigger boys make more tackles who are carrying an extra 20kgs means they are going to be gassed when running the ball up. If you only make 2 runs in a game then you should have plenty left to set line speed in defence. Conceding 28 points when you have close to 60% of the ball is a significant concern
Sorry I have to disagree.
He was fantastic. His work to engage and hold both markers on that short side play for Russell's try was first class. He than threw an amazing pass to Moses which got him in the front foot and outside his defender for another russell try.
I did notice that he appeared to be very frustrated at times throughout the second half though. It seemed as though he was getting over called a lot by moses and arthur
couldn't disagree more, Mahoney played a very cood controlled game not over playing his role. We will miss this little terrier next season. Played well not his best but done everything he needed to.
I think the stat that you should be concentrating on is the number of missed tackles Parra made in this game. I think it was at 33 but there were a lot of half arsed tackles that are not recorded in any stat sheet.
We all have to realise as well it's only round 1. The Titans got a roll on and played with a lot of enthusiasm which put us under the pump. I believe we can get better but I don't think they can. Take positives from the game matey. In past years we would very well have copitulated if a team as good as the titans were to come back in a game and pass us on the scoreboard.
Another example of how raw stats are largely meaningless. He was outstanding, we are gonna miss him badly.
Once again i can't believe we let him go. We have no replacement bar a 33 year old man who's injury prone
