The Parramatta Eels have granted Matt Arthur permission to speak with other NRL clubs regarding a potential move in 2025.
Matt and his management approached the club recently seeking permission to negotiate with other clubs following the 2024 season based on compassionate grounds.
Given the unique and exceptional circumstances, the Eels have granted the request to explore potential options.
Parramatta Eels CEO Jim Sarantinos said, “Matt is a great young man and it was wonderful to see him make his NRL debut earlier this year.
“While we would love to see him stay at the Eels, we understand the unique circumstances involved with this request and our decision to grant permission to negotiate with other clubs is based on compassionate grounds.”
Chief, trust is a huge word bud. But mate I get it, by my point being the kid was good enough to make junior reps and NSW origin. If he does not wish to be here due to his old man being turfed or maybe Ryles has told him that he can leave, then so be it. My frustration is the amount of decent kids we lose.
The kid we should have kept was Sanders. Jake & boods aren't losses. They said Jake would be an nrl player for years to come, yet now he's third string at Manly.
I'm not sure what other players you're concerned about who've left.
I'm with Ryles. We need to trust in Ryles. He's already made some good calls with the assistant coaching clean out.
Well said Michael, exactly to those who blame the club for letting Sanders go. The kid was not going to sit around for 4 years waiting for a chance. Then if we let Brown go to accommodate him and Brown carves it up and Sanders is average club is to blame again, same if Moses left for Sanders.

Agreed about Sanders, and this is also due to big contracts for current players.

Yep.
JA & MA have been talked up like they are the next Clearly and Cam Smith.
Both will never be anything more than average IMO.
No loss.
No great loss. Didn't see much in him anyway. Get Gutho or Penisini in that role
Wouldn't be surprised if his other son Dyl Brown ask for a release on compassionate grounds as well
