Brown sees Jennings as his centre solution

Former NSW and Australian centre Michael Jennings continues to be linked with Newcastle.

Jennings plays right centre – the same position as new Eels recruit Jarryd Hayne.

I keep hearing coach Brad Arthur won’t play Hayne at fullback next season.

Parramatta has denied the club is under any salary cap pressure and can comfortably retain Jennings.

But there are rumblings out of Newcastle that Jennings is a target.

Jennings would also have played with Knights recruits Mitch Pearce, Connor Watson, Shaun Kenny-Dowall and Aidan Guerra when at the Sydney Roosters.

Knights coach Nathan Brown may be on  the verge of capturing his second big signing of the off-season.

There's always a chance...

Clint Gutherson back to Manly?

It is the rumour that keeps sweeping across my cluttered desk.

I keep asking questions and am told Gutherson is happy at Parramatta.

But Mitch Pearce was happy at the Roosters and Cooper Cronk was happy at the Storm.

Things can change bloody quickly in rugby league – and Manly definitely want Gutherson.

  • Semi left.

    Hayne came in.

It's one player filling another's top 30 spot.

Also why would we need to release players when we are already two players short according to recent brad Arthur comments.
  • Lurker=bullshit.Im sure we were suppose to get napa according to this peanut.
  • Lurker is like a broken record.

  • LOL, Jenko back to the left and JH into the right
    • Hayne on Semi's wing......no other changes.....eventually Taka & Avau'a for the centre spot.

The only other possibility is that Guth not being available for say 4 rounds means that Hayne maybe has a chance for fullback but he will have to be a lot fitter than we have seen at any stage since NFL.

My theory is that Hayne can start running again on the wing and will always be a good finisher. At present based on Titans and Fiji he cannot break a tackle. Lets see if he can score off an overlap before we start worrying about him creating one.

BA is only human, he can motivate him to get fit....but Hayne has to do it. If he was fair dinkum about doing the work he should be turning up now! Then a few heads will turn!

  • How does this clown still have a job

  • Lurker has a desk?
    • At McDonalds
  • Someone should track the Lurker's success rate - go back and look at his predictions and how many come true. If it is more than 2% right I'd be surprised. Nothing to see here.
  • Nothing in rugby league would surprise me; however surely Gutho is a priority..?
